The summer of 2010 was already picking up its pace. Because of record high temperatures the cities were half empty with only dust and melting roads, as all the people were near the sea or at lakes, rivers, ponds and all sorts of swamps... so to say returned to the roots of life. Despite the forest fires, crops dying and people having to stay in water all day as if they were hippos, the heat wave really had some nice sides to it in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. It was here where Lithuania`s most promising new deep progressive act of 2010 emerged, and the underground electronic music scene has never been the same. As summer faded and the temperature dropped, everything returned to normal. But not for Suffused, who is still showing quite high temperatures and bringing exceptional heat to the global music scene.

Starting with the show "Suffused Diary" on Digitally Imported in 2011, Suffused has continually presented the freshest upcoming tracks from all around the world. Suffused Diary has seen the likes of Kasey Taylor, Tomas Haverlik, Airwave, Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic, Lemon8, Cid Inc and many other prominent artists in the progressive house field. As of 2012, the show was transferred to friskyRadio where it continues to host exceptional guests and leave lasting impressions with each episode.

In 2013 Suffused launched their own imprint "Suffused Music”, a label that has managed to make a huge dent in the progressive scene in its short lifespan. With a long and ever growing list of all star talent, Suffused Music is a label to keep in your sites. Releases from artists including Van Bellen, Moshic, Rick Pier O'Neil, John Johnson, Danny Lloyd, Kay-D, Dynamic Illusion, Kieran J, Faskil, Progress Inn, Matteo Monero, East Cafe, Ryan Sullivan, Stephen J. Kroos, and many more, keeping Suffused Music in the spotlight with a steady release of fresh sounds. Not able to fit all the fantastic music into one label, Suffused launched sister labels Suffused Polarities, Cloudy Moon Records, and Magnetism Digital (together with Trukers) to cover a wide range of genres including Progressive, Breaks, Techno, Tech-House, relaxed Ambient, Downtempo and Chill Out soundscapes. 2014 also saw the beginning of a new show called 'Over the Moon' on Proton Radio.

Beyond the labels, Suffused has been heard at a variety of events, sharing the booth with Cid Inc, Sonic Union, Ewan Rill, LoQuai, CJ Art, qoob, Michael & Levan, Kastis Torrau, Sun, Quartz and more. This year will see him playing at Yaga Gathering and with more events still to come.

Suffused has already made significant impacts on the underground electronic music scene since emerging from the heat during the summer of 2010. There truly is no limit to what will happen next. Keep an ear tuned to Suffused and watch as the next steps in this epic journey unfold.

Isis Graham
Notoriously resilient and endlessly innovative, Esette (aka Isis Graham) has carved out a lasting legacy in Western Canada’s electronic music scene. With over two decades of experience, her unrelenting work ethic has made her a leading figure both behind the decks and behind the scenes, shaping cultural staples like The Alberta Electronic Music Conference, Girls on Decks, Substation Recordings, and Versions Patio Parties.

Graham’s roots in Calgary’s underground rave scene date back to 1998, where she witnessed the peak of renegade parties. By 1999, she transitioned into DJing, and after local bylaws led to the end of raves, she adapted by bringing her sound to some of Western Canada’s most iconic venues over the past 20 years. Her sets have graced stages at renowned clubs like the Embassy, Cherry Lounge, HIFI Club, Habitat Living Sound, and Open Studios as well as celebrated festivals like Bass Coast, WMC, Decibel, Think! Festival, and Shambhala.

In 2003, Graham co-founded Girls on Decks, a collective that was dedicated to amplifying the visibility of female and non-binary DJs in the dance music scene. While the initiative is no longer active, its impact on Calgary’s music community is undeniable, with its influence continuing to resonate today. 

Since 2007, Graham has built an impressive catalogue as a producer, with releases on Supremus Music, O*rs, Substation Recordings, RF, gaining support from top-tier artists like Maceo Plex, Fred Everything, Seth Troxler, and Jamie Jones. From 2013 to 2018, she served as A&R for the Calgary-based Substation Recordings, further nurturing local talent. She also co-founded Studio Social, Calgary’s first producer-focused listening event series, which fostered collaboration and community among music creators.

In 2016, Graham co-launched the Alberta Electronic Music Conference, a boutique gathering of electronic music masterminds that ran annually at Calgary’s National Music Centre until 2019. The conference featured 60+ panels, workshops, and mentorship opportunities for emerging artists. Recognized for her entrepreneurial spirit, she received Avenue Magazine’s "Top 40 Under 40" award in 2019. Additionally, her weekly summer residency "Versions" at Modern Love (formerly Broken City) has become a key event for community building, nurturing emerging talent and fostering Calgary’s house
music scene, celebrating its 11th season in 2024.

Esette’s passion for launching boundary-breaking initiatives extends to her identity as a performer. Ever-evolving and always effervescent, her multifaceted approach and raw passion shine through her work—continuing to inspire and energize those fortunate enough to experience her sound.

There is a unique presence in the work of Toronto based Duo, Nature of Music. There is a sense of patience that allows their sound to ‘breathe’ in the framework of their sets and their production work. Strings play out, the delays roll off into the distance, and the reverb swells and holds you. They achieve this through utilizing the three principle components in music. The duo fuses rhythm, melody, and harmony into musical works
that combine both live performance and DJing into sophisticated blends. Drum machine rhythm pieces, mesmerizing palettes of melody sprinkled with hints of spoken word and acapella, and rich atmospheric pads and string ensembles create deep harmonies that all play equal rolls in the duo’s theater of sound.

Nature of Music formed in 2009 and has since worked with some of the industry’s most innovative tastemakers. They have been praised by industry heavyweight, Hernan Cattaneo as a “Top production duo to look out for.” This is reflected with their releases for Cattaneo’s influential Sudbeat label. Their talent has brought them to international territories across oceans for both intimate affairs and crowd jamming festivals.

Nature of Music stylistically are unlike any other and after a few plays become instantly ￼recognizable. Their work is aimed to make people move a way that keeps them lost in ￼the present moment. It is a peaceful state of being that is promoted through beautiful melancholic shades of electronic music.

I'm not one for DJ bios at all. How many times have you read about someone talking in the third person about having "shared the same stage as [namedrop]", or "played at [namedrop]"?

Sure I could talk about all the years I've been involved in the electronic music scene - as a dj, producer, promoter, and fan. I could talk about some of the gigs I've been lucky to play in places other than my hometown, or some of the big shows I've properly opened up for. I could also go on about the few tracks I've produced for a few decent labels, or the radio show I've been stubbornly doing for over seven years. So what?

Wouldn't you rather figure out what I'm about through my mixes and tracks I put up on Soundcloud? Or the events I play put on my Facebook page? Much more substance there I think.

Music speaks much louder than any words I could ever write, and lucky enough I have some of my own to share with all of you.

Matt Caine (Matt Hendrickson) has been a devoted music fan for as long as he can remember. His passion for electronic music arose when Trance and Hard Dance dominated the Calgary scene. As time passed, Matt’s taste has been refined to several sub-genres of house. Since 1999, Matt has sought out mentor ship from local Calgarian heroes Cary Chang, Jon Delerious (Nordic Trax) and Etric Lyons (Kush); each providing a unique base of knowledge for production and playing music. 

After DJ’ing for 10 years, Matt decided to start producing. Matt’s tracks are grounded in house; which provide deep, soulful and emotive sounds that are supported by the likes of Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Shur-I-Kan,Pezzner, Animal Trainer and many more. Matt has had some big releases on UK imprint Alola Records and Western Canada's Nordic Trax in the past years with Like A Fool (Nordic Trax)hitting the top 10 on Traxsource and gaining a publication in Mixmag.

Matt continues to DJ and with his productions is becoming a recognized name in the house music scene. For three years, Matt played alongside Jon Delerious every Friday at The Bamboo Tiki Room, which ended in 2012 as a new job opportunity at Habitat Living Sound. As the GM of Habitat Living Sound, Matt is surrounded by his passion everyday. Matt hosted Nu*Movement with co-host Isis Graham and Keep It Deep with Jon Delerious with guests each month at the iconic Habitat Living Sound and continues to gather bookings in Calgary and surrounding areas. Matt has opened for house heavy hitters such as: Fred Everything, Jimpster, Omid 16b, Danny Howells, Shur-I-Kan and Pezzner (just to name a few).

With constant bookings and new tracks being released, Matt has a bright future ahead of him. Whether you see him live in a club or listen to his tracks at home, be sure to keep an eye out for Matt Caine.
