better late than never ☻ here is the live set i played at the 2023 edition of the legendary birthday of @mira_kater at kater blau in berlin. it was a beautiful event once again full of long-time reunions with friends & artists from all parts of the world. i had loads of fun playing in packed & sweaty acid bogen with all of you and love to think back on it <3

due to some unfortunate technical issues, this is a re-recording of the set i played that night, so i guess @arutani and i have something in common there ;-) i hope you enjoy it nonetheless! happy new year to all of you.

“It’s all the same”, a phrase that keeps returning in Madota’s (aka Behnam & Mehram) first appearance on Moodfamily. Little do they know that what they’re bringing to the table is actually something totally different. Not only when it comes to electronic music, but also for their own approach to creating music. 

These two Iranian-born, Canadian-grown, Berlin-residing urban shepherds ushered in a new music creation process. As they jammed for hours, “Odesen'' unfolded organically, following its destined course. The song is spontaneous, vulnerable but also has this whimsical nature to it. The incorporation of the piano, one of their favorite instruments, as a percussive ànd as a melodic instrument further accentuates their lust for colorful organic elements coupled with an itch for darker grooves.

Here are the 10 records I selected for the Strawberry Fields 2024 application mix - vinyl only. Since this is for an opening set, I’ve chosen tracks that feel right for the time of day and the Australian bush environment—while still maintaining groove and energy to get people dancing.

Opening a festival the size of Strawberry Fields is no easy task. An opening set needs to lay the foundation for what’s to come without revealing too much, while still keeping the excitement alive. I aimed to capture the full festival experience in this mix.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did putting it together.

A relaxed journey through some of my favourite classics in one of the most beautiful living rooms in the world... at home away from home in magical Kasheme for the tribe, family, friends and fellow music lovers. When I pulled up it was very high energy and I could see and feel the space needed a break to relax so I completely shifted from my intended set direction and decided to go down the path of bliss. Even though the booth was raised that night and I played standing up, I was very much in da couch. ;) Some shoddy transitions and an accidental hot cue tap but hey the vibe was sweet, gentle and full of love from start to finish. Might have fallen a bit too hard for the Tape Delay of the Euphonia. Sincere apologies to Nina Miranda for speeding up Underwater Love wayyyy past Disney+. No idea what happened at 3h20mish (Mezcal Sour 99% likely culprit) maybe it was jealous it wasn't 420. Big shoutout to the homie who danced with groove for most of the set... respect! To all the kind listeners who came up to say hello, give thanks and show up their appreciation, much love! :)
