I started writing this the day Olivia was born. I hope it conveys some fraction of the beauty and hope Olivia has brought into our lives.

When I was young I thought that the universe revolved itself around my head. Now that I'm gone it looks like the world is just the same it was before we met.

Will you remember me? Will you look back at me? Will you even mention me? Will you remember me, till you lay next to me?

When I'm old will I look back and see that I was only wasting time? When I'm cold will it turn out the only life I ever changed was mine?

Oh, I hope they write a song for you - that you're the greatest guy they knew - no one did it like you do. Oh, but if you ask me, I think i'm starting to believe this thing you're trying to become is going to end and you'll be done.

Does it feel like morning's just the end to something that could be the best you've had? To something you could finally understand? Does anybody ever feel like that?

It's just another dream at most, it’s just another one of those. It's just another one that died, it’s just another sacrifice. It's just another one that died, it's just another sacrifice. You could stop and wonder why, you could stop and wonder why, you could stop and wonder why. It's just a dream.

Does it feel like morning's just the end to something that could be the best you've had? To someone you could finally call your friend? Does anybody ever feel like that?

You did what you did because you had to. You took what you did but they didn't know it was for love. You said what you said, it just stumbled out. It's not what you meant but it's too late now, so much for love.
