The name Mashriq originates from Arabic poetry and means "place of sunrise", which geographically refers to the Middle East. Mashriq started his DJ career out of passion and need, since in his second adopted country, Jordan, the techno scene was still in its infancy and hardly existed. For this reason, he founded his own format Techno Thursday, which once a month supplied Jordan's capital Amman with thunderous basses. Mashriq's ambition is to take the audience on a journey with his music and let them forget the daily routine for a few hours. His musical style is prescribed in "Melodic Techno" by night and "Downtempo" by day.
