Date Night dropped by last week and laid down their signature mix of chuggy nu-disco & house ahead of their debut performance upon our stage next week. We can't wait!

Roast Radio 003 by Date Night

In a world where information/music is so easily accessible (with the likes of Shazam, Spotify etc), as a dj it has become that much more of a challenge to find your signature sound and stand proud amongst the rest. 

‘The Upside Down’ events offer the dj with a comprehensive library that poetic license to showcase unconventional music for the typical club setting. 

I relished the process of creating and playing this set for these reasons…knowingly to the mature, ‘forgiving’ audience this crew attracts.

Remixed for the Derek Howell remix contest hosted by Ohmforce.com ... 

I used Ableton Live 8, my Alesis control pad to program extra percussion, and my M-Audio Axiom 25 to recreate parts of the original in my own way. I also used Ohm Force's Symptohm for a few crunchy fx sounds & the Frohmage Filter on nearly every stab and synth. I also used Ohmygod! once or twice which I received as full software from the Computer Music magazine a few months back.

I went for dark & Ohminous ;-)
