Have you ever spent time
Really getting to know someone?
Someone you judge?

How can you judge what you don’t know?
A different lifestyle
A different rhythm
Different priorities.
Sometimes you miss the beauty in the rush to know.
Sometimes you let fear get in the way of a good laugh.
Can you let go of trying to understand,
And feel?

Don’t all of us have good days and bad days?
Don’t all of us feel happy and sad?
Why do you want everyone 
To look the same?
Sound the same?
Be the same?  
Think the same?
Where’s that gonna get you?
I can’t be you, and you can’t be me.
Don’t we tell our children to be individuals?
Why don’t we want that for everyone?

Think about this planet, this incredible blue dot that is part of all of us.
This blue dot is our home.

Why?  Why rush to conclusions?
Why not find the courage to challenge
What we’ve been told?
We can choose to be different.
We can choose to accept everyone for who they already are
and for who they want to be.
We have the power
To be the change we need.
