This year marks 3 years of Needs.

Since humble beginnings in 2017, the label has gone on to release tracks from some of our favourite artists in the scene, as well curating events with essential charities and initiatives such as UN Women's HeForShe campaign, and also Earth Day.

To mark this special occasion we’re back where it all started, raising money and awareness for mental health. October 10th marks World Mental Health Day and this year's theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is suicide prevention. To recognise and promote this occasion we’ve brought along another all-star cast to help us spread the message far and wide.

Needs 008 is a double vinyl compilation which features the talents of ​Shanti Celeste​, ​OCB​, ​Michelle​, ​Bobby.​, Peder Mannerfelt​, ​Yu Su​, ​Adam Pits​ and ​DJ Sports​.

after a long year, we would like to share a compilation of music from friends and artists where the love runs deep. like most good things, projects take time to grow. it was important to represent the many cities that have helped this label come to identify what it really means. title track “caress” is the work from talented flora resident, sweater from the old home of philadelphia. following is vancouver’s livy lou’s masterful “running around” ideal for the escapism world we need so desperately right now. fellow canadian martyn bootyspoon with the highway go to “ throw it in reverse” we are very happy to welcome martyn and more montreal greats to the label. farren laen is one of these greats, running a label with martyn in montreal and delivering the graceful “sydney” familiar label mate dj dre continues with a new touch of sound with “lvr” unknown mobile stays on beat with “tired” a true gem waiting for the dancefloor in the future. switching up is production due blue island ave from pilsen, chicago. much more to come from them. b. hayes and illusive flourene conclude the ep in a relaxed, downtempo energy. thank you for listening.

"As we continue our ever long winded hiatus from the dancefloor, we are happy to welcome a new group of producers to the label in the form of 00:AM’s fourth various artists compilation. Certainly not the only way we expected to come together this year, but we’re grateful to be able to cultivate another 12” to share with the world.

Across the A Side, we are joined by three artists who we’ve had the pleasure of hosting and playing with in Montreal over the past couple years. Alfredo92 of the Axces crew in Copenhagen presents ‘Tente Hjul’ which gets the remix treatment from Mr. ACTION SHADOW himself, Fett Burger. The result in something distinctly mechanical but not without a human pulse and a tear jerking conclusion. Fantastic Man then puts his own psychedelic twist on the hardcore continuum, taking the beautiful palette of his recent LP on Mule Musiq to the brink of insanity with ‘On The Run’.

On the B side we find two new friends to 00:AM. We have a mandatory “minimum of 1 ESB tune gets played a night” policy round these parts, and so its truly a pleasure to release his ‘Sequential Dub’. Nothing less than a future classic, it’s dubby and understated, but a little quicker than you think. And finally, its a pleasure to introduce 2wo2imes, who delivers ‘Immune’ a deep and driving excursion into the wormhole.

It’s a weird world, we miss you all, but we’ll keep doing what we know best, releasing and enjoying the music that moves us - no matter the time or place."
