Critical Environmental Data is a transdisciplinary research group that focuses on the interaction of aesthetics, digital culture, and worlds of environmental damage. Part of Aarhus University in Denmark, the group conducts research and participates in international curatorial projects in art and design in order to address architectures and infrastructures of environmental data. The group investigates forms of sensing and aesthetics as well as spaces and places of data and environmental change. The project is led by Jussi Parikka, May Ee Wong and Paolo Patelli.

Written by Jussi Parikka, Paolo Patelli and May Ee Wong, The Environmental Audiotour consists of six audiostories that can be experienced in the South Harbour near the Lyypekinlaituri, in Vallisaari at the ruins of the old Weather Station, in Hietalahti, in the Kaisaniemi Botanical Garden and in Sörnäinen near the Uniarts Academy of Fine Arts – as well as online.

The audiotour can be experienced on-sight or online during 11.6. – 17.9. Link to the online content will be shared as soon as the Biennial is open.
