Happy Valentine’s Day!
Today it’s a huge honor to be able to share yet another special moment in dancefloor history eternalized by this recording from Roy Thode’s archive, all made possible thanks to his dear friend, Marsha Stern.
Recorded at the Underground on February 14th, 1981, this mix has been stored for just over 4 decades, to think that a spool of microscopic magnetized metal particles will give us the opportunity to re-experience what Roy Thode brought to the floor that night years before many of us were even born is goosebump inducing for us to say the least. At this point there should be no introduction needed to explain the virtuosity of this dancefloor maestro. Roy was a true Disc Jockey in essence, this is what he did, and his unique love for the craft can be heard loud and clear. Undoubtedly one of our biggest inspirations to us as DJs today.
We hope this mix takes you to a very special place because it surely came from one as Roy had self-titled this night “Music From My Heart”.

Soft Awakenings is a night of spontaneous musical story telling presented through live motivic development and improvisation. The ensemble, made up of musicians and artists from a variety of musical backgrounds, will aim to create unique musical moments reflected the warm energy of Ori. Communication and community and central themes to the evening, with the audience encouraged to be present and contribute to the collective music making. 

The theme for this session was the shared experience of dreams. The night explored how we perceive dreams and how this changes throughout our lifetime. It is something that is shaped by our different cultures and surroundings and yet is something that all humans share and contains within it the power to connect. In these uncertain and turbulent times, this theme is more important than ever🧍‍♂️🧍🧍‍♀️

The ensemble is made up of:

Tach! é um Moombahton com misturas latinas e indianas com toque de sons metálicos, muitos produtores do gênero já apresentaram versões com essa mistura e sabemos que funciona muito bem.
