Rework (@wannarework) serve up a superb new EP taken from their forthcoming ‘Real Love’ full length on Exlove Records (@exloverecords). The label's musical universe includes indie, electro, synthpop, post-punk and more from Rework side projects such as Pola Woman, Sceti, Sugartin and She Lies.  Rework are Michael Kuebler, Daniel Varga and Elmar Mellert who often work alongside a series of vocalists. They have put out modern club classics on Frankfurt-based institution Playhouse and make what they say is “new wave house” combined with icy minimal structures and catchy euro-girl vocals. More music has come on My Favorite Robot, Items & Things and Visionquest and their upcoming album is another musical adventure hinted at here. The dazzling 'Take Me Out' is a languid, low-slung and sleazy disco cut. The bass guitar is fat, the twitchy synths bring a cosmic feel and the steamy vocal is utterly seductive. As the loops build, arpeggios appear to bring further light and energy and lock the dance floor in for a pleasurable ride. 'Boring' then picks up the vibe with a cheeky, funk-elected groove and some sensuous female vocals that entice you to the dance floor. 'Real Love' is another track steeped in libidinous synths and vocals, with grinding French touch drums, shooting cosmic chords and hip swinging claps designed for maximum dance floor effect. 'Stardust' closes with crystalline synths and a downtempo rhythm that sinks you into a cosmic reverie full of love. 

This is a great teaser for the adventurous house and disco full length to come.

These sounds came through a shaman guided San Pedro ceremony. This is what happened..

I was standing by a huge tree, every mythology has their tree of the world. In the north that tree is called "yggdrasil". I Closed my eyes and was told to follow the roots deep down under ground. It was completely dark, but the roots of the tree just kept leading me deeper and deeper... Finally i reached this cave... And there was a fire down there. And people standing in a circle around that fire. I was quiet, and looked at their lit up faces.

They told me they were my ancestors, and that they have been waiting for me...

Next moment i was standing by the foot of the mountain Kebnekajse. This time there were no other mountains around. just wide stretches of land. It was very windy.. I could see that old tree in the horizon. So i went back to it to sit down by its stem.

I began to hear the shaman drums calling me back to this world again.

Gregorio Gomez aka Gladkazuka is a mythical figure from Medellín’s underground nightlife, contributing since pre – smartphone ages with energetic live sets to the celebration of life in the convulsive surrounding of the Colombian city. After playing and touring alongside Matias Aguayo with “The Desdemonas” and contributing with the club smash hits “Ihr Euer” and “Futuro Chaos” to the “Solidarity Forever” series on Cómeme - Gladkazuka is back with a full EP in which highly emotive and sensual electro dance fantasies culminate to “The Drop”. Gomez’ creations are nocturnal and lush, utopian and melancholic - underground dance pop that would be mainstream in a better world.

However these songs were created in a place where an unseen destruction of nature is taking place, and - in mids of times of supposed peace agreements - social leaders are being assassinated under the eyes of a new right wing government. Meanwhile the societies are fragmented towards a growing individualism and competition, exchanging dignity for an ideal of consumerism.
In this chaos, music becomes the celebration of life.

“Naturalia”, the first track of the EP reflects this with its lushness and its jungle - like humid warmth, “Flancing” with its happy flying fishes and “El Coral” with its jittering electric eels.

“The Drop” is decontextualized Electro and New Wave – echoes of dissolving into utopian dreaming, longing for better times, like vampire bats, hanging in their caves, waiting for the night to come.
