Van mixtapes tot mainstage – mijn reis als DJ

Als kleine jongen was ik al verslingerd aan dancemuziek. Elke donderdag zat ik klaar voor de legendarische Ferry Maat Soulshow, met de taperecorder stand-by om geen seconde te missen. Muziek zat er vroeg in – het draaien begon toen ik vaak te vinden was bij Locomotion in Zoetermeer. De vaste DJ daar, Jack Henneken, zag mijn passie en gaf me de kans om te leren. Als de club net open was, mocht ik de draaitafels even overnemen om te oefenen. Dat waren de eerste stappen achter de decks.

Toch moest ik op een gegeven moment kiezen: topsport en lange nachten in de club gingen niet samen. Maar mijn liefde voor muziek is altijd gebleven.

Vandaag de dag draai ik VOL op  – met mijn eigen professionele DJ-setup en een sound die staat als een huis. Ik verzorg sets op allerlei evenementen: van strandfeesten en bruiloften tot bedrijfsevents en clubs. Elke gig is uniek, maar één ding blijft hetzelfde: ik breng de energie, het ritme en de sfeer die jouw event onvergetelijk maakt.

From mixtapes to mainstage – my journey as a DJ

As a little boy, I was already addicted to dance music. Every Thursday I was ready for the legendary Ferry Maat Soulshow, with the tape recorder on standby so I wouldn’t miss a second. Music was something I got into early – I started spinning when I was often found at Locomotion in Zoetermeer. The resident DJ there, Jack Henneken, saw my passion and gave me the chance to learn. When the club had just opened, I was allowed to take over the turntables for a while to practice. Those were the first steps behind the decks.

At some point, I had to choose: top-level sport and long nights in the club didn’t go together. But my love for music has always remained.

Today, I’m spinning again – with my own professional DJ setup and a sound that’s rock solid. I provide sets at all kinds of events: from beach parties and weddings to corporate events and clubs. Every gig is unique, but one thing remains the same: I bring the energy, the rhythm and the atmosphere that makes your event unforgettable.
