The creation of the album ‘ Wonderment ‘ was partly inspired by the Schumann resonance or 'heartbeat of the earth', the earth's own vibration, which is around 8 hertz (7.83 Hz). The Schumann resonance comes very close to human frequencies, including in the brain, namely the alpha waves. Contemporary neuroscience confirms it is the senses with their acuity for pleasure and pain that teach us how to navigate the world. Thanks for listening... MZ

After recently released ‘Thoughtfulness’ single it’s now time for Manu Zain’s ‘Wonderment’ album which is a compelling dive into the tranquil and expansive world of downtempo music. With 17 meticulously crafted tracks, this album offers an immersive experience that feels both introspective and transcendent.

From the opening track till the ending track, Zain sets the tone with soft, lush soundscapes that immediately envelop the listener in a cocoon of calm. The gentle piano melodies, layered over subtle electronic beats, create a serene atmosphere that invites deep contemplation. This theme of delicate balance between organic, analog and synthetic elements continues throughout the album, showcasing Zain's adeptness at blending them seamlessly.

There is one vocal song on there, the beautiful ‘Healing Hands’, a track that encapsulates the album's ethos. It’s a slow-burning piece that evolves gradually, building on the rich vocals.

‘Wonderment’ is a testament to Manu Zain’s ability to create music that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. To conclude we quote Manu Zain:

“The natural world is always humming and we are the natural world. We calibrate ourselves to the world through sensations of geophonic, biophonic and anthrophonic sounds.

Our senses are inextricably linked to our existential experience, our feeling of being in this exact place, right now with these particular sounds.

These layers of sounds I used in the compositions on the Album. Wonderment, never lose your sense of wonder, and being fully exposed at that one particular moment in time.
