As a long-time events & community organizer, Malzof is also well-known for their public art, projection art/installations and musical output.

Sweet Abyss resident Malzof has been DJing for a decade, playing their own signature style of transgender dance music. As a life-long music collector, their sound archives go deep. Heavily influenced by IDM, Ambient, experimental music, breaks, sampling, and dance music of all kinds, they are not afraid to make it blend. They see DJing as an extension of all the work they do- to bring people together, to encourage moments of release and joy, and to support people in showing up in their true expressions as resistance against hegemony.

You may have heard Malzof play a freaky downtempo set at last year's Sploosh alongside Yessi, or perhaps somewhere across the region - from just about everywhere in Pittsburgh to Philly, NYC, Ithaca, Rochester, Montreal, Detroit or on your radio waves across the world. Malzof brings their creative vision and multimedia art practice into the ways they share sound.

dual monitor is the alias of fliss mayo and zebb dempster - djs and producers based in liverpool and bristol. the duo was formed back in 2023 and in these two years, they’ve released on the likes of cloudcore, nehza records, rinse, spe:c, obligated, amity and ec2a. such a prolific output that rinse named them ‘the uk genre alchemists’ and rightly so. we’re super excited to welcome them on the 909 series this week! delve more into their foundations, influences, story so far and recent obsessions in the interview below : )

This Friday we bring you another incredible mix from an artist whose work we have been admiring for quite some time. The 17th installment of the HER 他 Transmission series comes from the Berlin Based- Taiwanese experimental and electronic producer, SABIWA. 

SABIWA began a life in music inside of an aquarium and has since then developed a strong passion for electronic music, sound design, and field recording. As a producer, she sculps sounds from their natural and synthetic sources and allows them to interact with abstract patterns, form and textures. These explorations merge alongside her processed voice as the guiding path of her compositions. As well as sounds, SABIWA also curates the live visuals for her performances. Other work includes composition for art performances, soundtracks, and documentaries, which includes many collaborations with numerous artists and musicians.
