Welcome back to another Transmission broadcasting from the HER 他 Transmission Mix Series, a weekly mix series showcasing amazing artists from around the world. For the 88th edition, we bring you a mix from none other than the Berlin-based DJ and Artist, Viscerale. 

Born in Hamburg and based in Berlin since 2011, Viscerale is an artist who found her passion for selecting music at a very young age. Beginning her musical career in classical piano, it was not until 201 when her first electronic music mixtapes began to appear, which saw her soon performing in clubs and venues across Europe including a 1-year residency at Ved Siden Af in Copenhagen and frequent appearances in Paris, London and clubs like Berghain and Säule. 

Driven by strong emotions and influenced genres from techno to trance to hardcore and all stops in between. Her mixes take the listener on a journey, one with high energy and many playful twists and surprises along the way, finding her comfort zone anywhere north of 140 BPM.

We want to again thank Viscerale for putting together this special Holiday/Christmas mix for our series and wish everyone out there a very happy, safe and positive holiday period.

HER 他 Transmission 088: Viscerale

The mix is a blend of new things I've made, and artists that caught my attention. Some things I was listening to in pandemic times and a few things that are very dear to me. I chose to depart from techno halfway through the mix and I got to play some music I don't usually get to play, that inspires me almost endlessly. I wanted to play with the way I mixed it and I chose to use a computer, purists be warned. But this way I can do all kinds of interesting spectral manipulation, I hope to explore this more in the future, as I felt like I only scratched the surface.

Today we are releasing another Axxidcast by Inger Illel (@ingerillel) -  DJ, musician and producer from the Czech Republic, Prague. The ideological inspirer and one of the founders of the @amphibian_rec music label and @nmt_au podcast series. 

Echoes of childhood, darker and colder, are clearly heard in the podcast. Oscar Mulero had a great influence on the development and formation of musical taste and inspiration, where you can easily catch the notes of groove techno and different textures.

Inger as an artist, describes himself as a individual who, while playing, takes you on some kind of a trip and the main task is for you to feel and to communicate.
Whether it's evoking undiscovered landscapes or even feelings that are deep inside of you, it is always an incredible way of experience. Inger while creating also shares his feelings with you, which can also have an impact on the listener.

Also these crazy guys from Amphibian have a killer collaboration party with @bassiani 13th January 2023 on epic Strahov Stadium in Prague.

現居柏林的台灣聲音藝術家Floating Spectrum在去年推出首張專輯《A Point Between》——用自己設計的 audio software 創造出燦爛有機的科技音景，驚艷實驗氛圍電子樂界。

聆聽Floating Spectrum為《HER 他》Transmission 009製作的Mixtape，充滿聲音張力的選曲，美的讓人屏息凝氣。

We are always excited ahead of time to share with you the amazing mixes we are sent for our Transmission series, and for number 9 this isn’t any different. HER 他 Transmission 009 comes to you via Taiwan born, Berlin-based musician and audio technologist, Mei-Fang Liau, otherwise known as Floating Spectrum. 

Floating Spectrum's music shimmers with elemental richness, as synths, meditative drones, and heavily processed samples evolve across layered environmental soundscapes. Her sonic journeys explore themes of growth, decay, and the contradictory place of humans within nature. 

As Floating Spectrum, Mei-Fang creates intuitive and emotional compositions from a technically rigorous practice, coding her own custom generative music engines and software synthesizers. Using self-made tools such as Polyphylla, her fractal-based synthesizer inspired by patterns in nature, she is able to craft a wide range of intricate, organic computer-based sounds with subtlety and depth.

For the 13th installment of the HER Transmission series, we are excited to take you to Japan and share with you this powerful, heavy-hitting, sonic mix by Japanese Multi-instrumentalist and composer, Yuko Araki. We really appreciate the diversity shown in this mix and hope that you guys will enjoy it.

As a child, Yuko Araki played piano but it was later in her teenage years that she was inspired by hardcore and metal music, which lead her down her eclectic path in a diverse range of projects such as drummer of the oriental/tribal dream-psych band Kuunatic, a founding member of Neo-Classical noise duo Concierto de la Familia as well as her own solo project that mixes harsh noise drones with layers of analog synthesizers, cymbals, and samples of traditional Japanese instruments.

Yuko released her debut album ‘II” in October 2019 through boutique Italian tape label Commando Vanessa.

Let’s mix things up a bit here. For the 19th installment of the HER 他 Transmission series, we reached out to the incredible Zhao Cong from Beijing, China. 

Zhao Cong is an experimental sound artist and improviser who uses everyday items to play and create in her world of improvised sound. Through items such as paper, metal, cloth, and strings combined with condenser and contact microphones, Cong is able to birth strange differences within sound using relatively simple actions. Cong has released a solo album, ‘Rotating, Rotating’, and also features as a bass player in various other outfits including Not in Catalog and Kaoru Abe No Future.

Happy Friday and happy 20th installment of the HER 他 Transmission mix series! One of the ideas we have tried to explore with this series is celebrating both local and international artists while giving a platform to so many artists and people that we enjoy, love, and want to celebrate. So for the 20th Transmission, we’re happy to share this mix by Naarm/ Melbourne DJ and Producer, Thao.

Under her DJ moniker, BB BAN GAS, and producer alias THU Care, Thao weaves her stories across multiple genres spanning from RnB and Hip- Hop to World Music and Field Recordings, using sounds formed from her daily life as part of a broader community and family. As a non-Black person, Thao wishes to acknowledge and pay respects to Black culture, Black Music, and its roots in slavery.

Happy New Year and welcome to 2021. 

We would like to take this time to firstly congratulate everyone reading for getting through the year that was 2020 and welcome them into 2021. 

We really hope that we can all party together soon, but for the time being we are continuing where we left off with the HER Transmission Mix series and bringing you another incredible mix from an incredible artists to really start 2021 off the right way!

HER Transmission #38 comes from the Bulgarian-born Copenhagen Based DJ and Producer, Vixen @vixen_vex

Vixen is one of the fastest rising talents coming from the incredible and ever growing underground scene in the Danish capital of Copenhagen. Since 2017, Vixen has been gaining momentum, both locally and internationally as a member of the renowned DIY collective Fast Forward @fastforwardproductions. As a DJ, her style has been described as ‘The High energy contact point between vibrant and playful trance-fuelled melodies, tongue-in-cheek vocals and floor-destroying industrial drums’. 

This mix is truly incredible and we want to thank Vixen so much for the submission and being part of the HER Tranmission series and giving us this opportunity to really put the right foot forward in 2021.
