THE NUT JUMPERS was born in 2017.  
With 2 musicians from UK : HELEN SHADOW & RICKY LEE BRAWN. 
1 musician from FRANCE : JAKE CALYPSO.

1st album 'BOOGIE IN THE SHACK' is on Rhythm Bomb Records, released in 2018.
THE NUT played during 2 years in several legendary ROCKABILLY Festivals in France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Uk & United States. 

The new album is coming in the same time with the stage again in 2024. 
1st with a EP on EL DANDY Records : THE NUT JUMPERS ARE BACK.
Then, this album 'ROCK'N'ROLL GENERATION', again on Rhythm Bomb Records, with 13 tracks. BACK IN BLACK, and above all, back to the ROCKABILLY & ROCK'N'ROLL. 
Except the Johnny Hallyday's cover, only original songs by the NUT. 

They are the GENERATION ROCK'N'ROLL..
Helen played with Johnson Family, Queen B's & more...
Ricky played with The Stargazers, The Space Cadets, Big Six.
Jake played with Mystery Train, Hot Chickens.. & stills play under his band name Jake Calypso & His Red Hot...

Generation Rock'n'Roll

Stop Drinkin' Still Play Rock'n'Roll

'Rock'n'Roll Vendetta' est le 7ème album studio des Hot Chickens. Enregistré en Avril 2025 au 'Shack' par 'Indahouse Studio' et mixé par le Studio Midnight.  Réalisé par 'Around The Shack Records', cet album regroupe 9 compositions originales et 4 reprises dont Eddy Mitchell, The Animals et Crazy Cavan.  Le trio se tourne un peu plus encore vers un style Blues Rock, des sonorités 60's et 70's. Et depuis l'album 'It's Time To Rock Again', quelques titres en Français s'ajoute au répertoire des Hot Chickens. 
Les musiciens sont :
Hervé Loison : Vocal, Basse, Harmonica
Christophe Gillet : Guitares, Chœurs  
Thierry Sellier : Batterie, Chœurs 

Blues Letter

Hervé Loison alias Jake Calypso est né le 24 Mai 1964 dans le Nord de la France au milieu des terrils et des corons. 
Très vite passionné par Elvis et le Rock'n'Roll, il devient musicien dès l'âge de 13 ans dans le groupe The Corals (Mac Records) puis Mystery Train dans les années 90, 2 albums respectivement sur Rockhouse et Eagle Records.

En 1999 c'est la création des Hot Chickens, aujourd'hui un des plus anciens trio Rockabilly en France et toujours en activité avec 5 albums studio.
Essentiellement des 'covers' de Gene Vincent, Little Richard, Johnny Burnette, Buddy Holly.

10 ans plus tard, c'est sous le nom de Jake Calypso que s'enregistre le single 'My Baby Rocks !' qui surprend la scène Rockabilly.
C'est la naissance d'un nouveau projet beaucoup plus tourné vers le racines et des chansons originales absorbant un tas d'influences, tout d'abord Rockabilly, puis Blues, Gospel, Country, Cajun et 60's.

Le côté Blues de Jake prendra aussi le nom de Wild Boogie Combo après s'être affranchis d'un premier album très garage !

Entre-temps Jake avait fait l'expérience de mélanger le BLUES avec des influences Indiennes des Indes et d'Amérique. Et sous le nom tout aussi étrange de Maharadjah Pee Wee Jones. Il en restera quelque chose pour identifier le style Jake Calypso plus tard...

Ajoutons à la discographie, une album consacré à Hank Williams sous le nom des Rambling Men, puis une autre collaboration dans le trio Franco-Anglais The Nut Jumpers qui éveille chez Jake un intérêt pour le travail en Studio avec un équipement Vintage. Ce qu'il avait vécu pour la première fois en 2014 dans le mythique Studio Sun à Memphis avec un ingénieur de son passionné et renommé. 

D'autre courtes expériences en tant que musicien derrière Didier Chappedelaine alias Didier Wampas pour un album de Country Québécoise et un Tribute 'Eddie Cochran' avec Viktor Huganet.

Autant d'aventures différentes et d'influences diverses qui constituent aujourd'hui le discographie de Jake Calypso. 

Depuis peu, le nom BOOGIE AROUND THE SHACK fait son apparition dans l'univers de JAKE. C'est à la fois une émission de RADIO qu'il a plaisir à animer et présenter, c'est un tout jeune festival de BLUES, c'est un Label (Around The Shack Records) pour les projets à venir.
