Crush

Extended 12" (dj-friendly) mix of the second track from my new album, Recalibration EP (tracks being released one-by-one, as I finish them).  This is a melodic deep house tune, that is quite chilled, and slow at 116 bpm. It features a host of instruments, and builds to a kind of crescendo.

About the track title... I took a NOVEL APPROACH to creating this tune. My most used method is I make a 30 second loop, and write a bassline, kickdrum, 2/3 more beats and 2/3 more instruments for that loop. Then when Im happy, I map out the track, and build from there. This time I wrote the entire bassline first, creating much more variation in it, and only included a kick, whilst I wrote each instrument for the full track, after each other. Only then did I add more beats, and this helped me hear what I was doing much more clearly. It was both enjoyable and enlightening. It's not suitable for every type of track, but I will definitely be using that method again.
