BIO - Oscar Furtado:

Oscar Furtado, Promotions Director for Tandemtracks, has worked closely with local and international artists for several years. He made his start in the music industry at Nettwerk Records, marketing albums for Sarah McLachlan, Swollen Members, Tiesto, Delerium, The Be Good Tanyas and many others. Following Nettwerk, Oscar decided to join Hipjoint Music Group, quickly becoming VP Of Artist Promotions.

At Hipjoint, Oscar secured extensive nationwide Canadian and/or U.S. radio airplay for singles by Suzie McNeil (two Top 20 singles), Holly McNarland, Katie Melua (achieved GOLD status in Canada), Bob Sinclar (Top 10), Brandon Paris Band (Top 20 CHR), Classified (2007 Juno nominee), Jets Overhead (2007 Juno nominee), Cory Lee (2006 Juno nominee), Kreesha Turner (2009 Juno Nominee), Shiloh, Madeleine Peyroux, Hipjoint (producer project), soulDecision, Marcy Playground and many others.

Music is my greatest passion and my fuel. If you ask me what is my dream, I would tell you that I am living it right now. Making my own songs, in my own room, with my equipment and ideas. Love is living in my songs, explaining the pure feelings and honesty. Two most important things in my life, as a person. The lyrics are in my language, cause I think I can express my emotions stronger in my native language. My favorite band since childhood was The Corrs, and Irish music gives me power and happiness so lots of their influences went through my music. I sometimes feel like I was born in Ireland. I feel that music so I love to combine those instruments and sounds with modern pop. My only goal is to create more songs, to publish it in any way and to hear some of these: "Your song helped me through tough times", "You touched me with your song".....

Tenille is paving her own way in this business of country music in Canada. As we’ve watched this young aspiring artist, grow before our eyes into a young woman, Tenille is quickly becoming a role model to many and has an infectious way of inspiring everyone she comes across, with her contagious smile and uplifting attitude.

Tenille embarks into 2013 with new single “Dear Heart”, off of her soon to be released album “Light”, a great departure from her previous release, introducing us to a wiser and more grown young adult. This album gives us insight to the trials and tribulations of a teenager facing growing into a woman, falling in love and being carefree with your heart.

Tenille is known for her philanthropy contributions, which resulted in being honoured as the youngest recipient in history to be presented with the Slaight Music Humanitarian Award at the 2012 Canadian Country Music Awards.

In 2012 Tenille was also recognized by the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce - Business Excellence Award for "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" and recently in early 2013 received the Queen Elizabeth II - Diamond Jubilee Medal. Following this great honour, Tenille also received The Alberta Country Music Association’s Award for “Female Artist of the Year” for the 2nd year in a row and also was awarded with the 2012 “Fan’s Choice”.

Tenille intends to use her developing career and notoriety to continue to give back through music to communities across Canada. Grande Prairie’s starlet is setting her mark on country fans and industry alike with her strong advocacy for ‘giving back,’ with heavy fundraising efforts with several organizations and in addition, to creating her own annual music event Big Hearts for Big Kids benefiting Sunrise House, the youth emergency shelter serving a wide area of Northern Alberta. In the four-year event tenure, $350,000 has been raised which helped to keep the shelter doors open.

In addition to being busy finding ways to “give back”; Tenille started her own headlining tour, called “Play It Forward”. This tour kicked off in her home province of Alberta on October 15th running through to November 16th, 2012. Tenille traveled to schools across Alberta with a message through music and motivational speaking for students, promoting positive leadership efforts for Canada’s youth. During the 5-week duration, Tenille managed to reach over 10,000 students in 29 schools all over the province. With Alberta being such a great success, The Play It Forward tour will travel across Canada this spring, starting off in BC March 2013.

Tenille has been fortunate to land opening slots for well-known acts including Terri Clark, Randy Travis, Easton Corbin, John Landry, Aaron Pritchett, Emerson Drive and Gord Bamford. She has performed at some of Canada’s biggest country music festivals including The Calgary Stampede, Manitoulin Country Fest, Bud Country and heard across the country on Breakfast Television Edmonton, CTV’s national morning show and Canada AM.

Signed to Royalty Records in 2011, Tenille released her sophomore album on March 12th, 2013 entitled “Light”. 

Hey Romeo is a country act from Edmonton, Alberta that was formed in 2002 by Stacie Roper, Rob Shapiro, and Darren Gusnowsky. Their music is characterized by tight harmonies and the signature interplay between Rob's keyboards, Darren's guitar, and Stacie's powerhouse vocals.

Hey Romeo is not just a group of talented musicians but also unique and likable personalities who have been able to persevere through the years. Their commitment to their craft, fans, and each other is reflected in every song they wrote and recorded.

In 2008, the band won the Canadian Country Music Award for Top New Talent of The Year. Their 2010 album, which included the Top 20 hits Searchin’ For You and That’s What I Am, solidified their reputation. That year, Hey Romeo also celebrated the Discovery Award from Music Row Magazine from Nashville, TN.

The band went on to rack up several nominations from coast to coast over the years, including winning the CCMA Award for Group or Duo of The Year in 2011 and 2012 for both That’s What I Am and 2012’s Twist Of Fate. Their lead single, Hello Patio, from the 2014 EP, I Got This, won the 2014 Alberta Country Music Award (ACMA) for Song of The Year.

Throughout their career, Hey Romeo has worked with music industry veterans Rob Hewes, who produced their self titled record, award winning songwriter and producer Byron Hill (George Strait, Alabama, Gary Allan, Ray Charles) who produced their next two records That’s What I Am and Twist of Fate and was a mentor to the group. Brad Crisler (Brett Eldredge, Brooks & Dunn, Trace Adkins, High Valley) stepped in as producer for their fourth record I Got This. The band members Rob Shapiro and Darren Gusnowsky, along with Johnny Gasparic (MCC Studios), produced their last record Ride With Me.

Hey Romeo has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in country music, including Alan Jackson, Sugarland, Darius Rucker, Terri Clark, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Gord Bamford and Johnny Reid. Their insistence on staying on the road as much as possible has earned them a reputation as one of the hardest working acts in Canada.
