I made this track in a small room downstairs from the PMC studios 2006.
it was right after i returned to Plymouth after a year long stint recording live gigs for london company mad inertia..
I'd been multi-track recording everyone from Hard Fi to Babyshambles all over the country in venues like Scala and Brixton Academy all the way up to Glastonbury.
Great fun, but mixing live recordings wasn't really doing much for my production skills so when we demo'd a rough outline of this track with just acoustic guitar and vocals, i was keen to do something extra with it.
I had been listening to JT and Kelis a fair amount and I remember buying MJ's 'Invincible' album and thinking "how did this cost $20 million?" 
So this was my attempt at programming R&B with no recording studio and in my spare time
With the exception of vince's voice, original lyrics and top line melody, everything else was played, programmed & recorded by me.
PS There's a sound towards the end that haunts me to this day.. it's all wrong!

Right Thing feat' Vince Freeman 2006

The 2nd tune of the 3 way collaboration between Tanya Balura (Lead Vocals), Rob Congdon (Aka Rob C) and myself. 
This tune was recorded and produced using a Roland JV2080, an AKAIS3200XL which i still own, and the horrible medium of ADAT, which I am pleased to say i do not!. We made this is in late 1998 or early 1999 in The Cooperage Studios. 

I only know this because both rob and I were heavily into Portishead/Red Snapper and Moloko at the time and Moloko's 2nd Album "I Am Not The Doctor" had not long been released. This found its way onto the front cover of a computer magazine as one of the first ever free MPEG 3's as they were then coined.
I loved working with Rob and owe much of my basic production theory and conduct to him to this day.
