We are delighted to announce we will be releasing the debut album from The Black Tambourines, a garage rock four piece from Falmouth, Cornwall. Having released their debut single back in November 2010 and their EP 'Chica' 12 months later, a debut album has been a long time coming.

The self titled album is due for release September 2nd and is available to pre-order on a variety of formats. In addition to a 12" record, the album will also be available as a Tshirt and an embroided iron-on patch - both of which come with an MP3 version of the album, delivered a week before the release date. The first 50 physical orders come with a super ltd poster screen printed by the band.

Today we’re so excited and truly humbled to announce our next release as the return of Rory Attwell’s primary recording project Warm Brains. 

A couple of years have carved their way into the history books since his well received debut ‘Old Volcanoes’ first landed on our record players. Attwell certainly has been busy since he last stamped his name onto a release of ours (New Year Evil, ‘Shame’ AIH002) - if he isn’t busy pursuing his own material or discreetly wielding an axe onstage with Parlour then he’ll be found busting Brattwell balls at his nautical studio Lightship95. Whether it’s friends of ours like Tyrannosaurus Dead, Gum, Bloody Knees and the aforementioned NYE or larger players such as Yuck, Male Bonding, Big Deal, Paws, Veronica Falls … we could continue to list our favourite bands all afternoon.

As you will hear above, nostalgia runs through the very veins of lead track ‘Happy Accidents’. From the kitchen-sink’esque description of an afternoon spent with relatives to the call and answer chime of the lead guitar part. There’s something distinctly 90’s about the track; whether it’s the mention of “Saturday grandstand” or the fact that this sounds exactly how I wish Blur sounded at the time.

A couple of years holed up in a studio with an ever-eager set of the countries finest bands has made room for a wealth of influences displayed across the EP’s further 3 tracks (Flowers Arranged, Two Fingered Salute, Crooked Etymology). This means there’s plenty more surprises to come ahead of the EP’s release on 16th December 2013. Expect guest vocals, haunting piano, discordant guitar melodies and lots more.

To tie in with all the talk of Saturday afternoons of the 90’s, we will be putting out the release as a ‘football-style’ scarf as well as a beautifully presented cassette. You can view images of both as well as pre-order the package over on our shop p.s. they’re limited to 100!

Today we are delighted to announce details of the new EP from the ever prolific, irresistibly charming and admirably talented Gorgeous Bully.

For those who haven’t been with us an awfully long time, Gorgeous Bully (the moniker of musician Thomas Crang) has been a mainstay of the AIH family. Whilst based in Cornwall he first cropped up on AIH05 (a compilation of bands from the SW). He then moved to Plymouth and January 2012 saw us releasing his debut EP 'The Young Obese'. Fast forward to November 2013 and with a 7" EP under his belt, Thomas is now based in Manchester.

Whereas earlier material saw Thomas playing everything himself, 'Nobody Hates You As Much As You Hate Yourself' marks the first outing from Gorgeous Bully as a full band. Having spent the last 12 months playing up and down the country with the likes of Joanna Gruesome, Cymbals and Throwing Up some recorded output from the full band was long overdue.

The addition of a full band has certainly aided Thomas's ability to craft self aware, self inflicted ditties. Across the EP's further four tracks, expect a celebration of misery, loneliness and self-loathing, perfectly molded into three minute grungey pop songs that celebrate the freedom of not doing what is expected of you

2012's Gorgeous Bully EP was released in a cigarette style package that sold out on pre-order alone, for 'NHYAMAYHY' we have tried to come up with something just as visually appealing. The EP is set to be released on February 17th on cassette, in a hand-stamped box that contains a lyric sheet, badges, a bottle opener/lighter, a download code for an MP3 version as well as a further secret EP.

If you would prefer just to have the MP3 version then you can purchase it from our Bandcamp and receive a download of the full EP straight away ahead of the February 17th release date.

Born in the belly of a whale, discovered by the Kool-Aid man. Kansas bred, NYC based DIY mainstays Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk return with their latest full length "Burritos".

Burritos is the fourth in a line of unique and ever evolving/devolving sets of music on this label. It’s also the most perfectly synthesized and coherent example of the different “eras” of BBDDM to date. The hazy acoustic guitar strum strum under a sea of chill inducing vocal harmonies, the urgent sandy pop hits bursting at the seams with beautiful blankets of guitar and echoey noise, the dark basement insect sound atmospherics with cracked guitars and percussive crackles and pings. Burritos is also more laid bare and and honest in its delivery, forgoing the harsher aspects of past releases and leaving more room for the moments of true harmony (and the real moments of harmonic disharmony, too) that have always existed in their music. Another personal favorite.

GW Bridge is the bside of our next single (aih019) and comes from indie pop 5 piece Big Wave. Having previously featured on both our Dry Route to Devon compilation as well as last year's Pizza Club, a full release was well overdue. 

In 'GW Bridge' and the A side 'Goldmine', Big Wave have nailed the art of crafting jangly, female-fronted guitar pop that manages to tread the line between heartbreak and jubilance. Take 'GW Bridge' a song about one of New York's most popular suicide spots. Despite it's macabre subject matter, the melodies still shine through as the Torquay 5 piece showcase the sort of influence you'd expect to gain from growing up in the 'English Riviera'.
