Beat-crafter, DJ and Samsara Beats head honcho. @HNGVR, or simply Rob when he isn't on stage, spent many years developing his own sound and playing his sets in many festivals, clubs and renegades around all the Bay Area in California and his native island, Sardinia. Halftime, Slowfast & Footwork are HNGVR’s main influences and inspirations but his music is difficult to classify in a specific genre; complex polyrhythmic drum patterns meet fat basslines and soft melancholic melodies, often enriched by chopped vocal samples. He finds himself comfortable on that thin line in between dancefloor music and introspective beats. His passion and dedication to music and all the connections that music creates, pushed him to found Samsara Beats and give his contribution to the Underground Bass Music community.

“Lately I’m enjoying covering a wide spectrum of Bass Music in my mixes, spinning at different BPMs and changing mood & intensity. For this one, I started at 140 BPM and went up to 174. I Included both new and old tunes from Samsara Beats and some of my favorite labels & producers. Hope you enjoy it, cheers from Sardinia!"

Amen Connection Podcast [EP18] ***Guest: Johney

After the success of the previous compilation series comprised of 4 releases (Syncopation, Oscillation, Detonation & Isolation, all available free to download via our Bandcamp page,) we’re excited to present a new series of VA. This time every VA will focus on a specific genre or sub- genre of what we call Bass Music. The title of the first release, ’Eternal Darkness of the Halftime Beats” reveals itself the sonic direction we want to go in, without the need for additional information. As usual, our VA welcome an heterogeneous mix of well known names in the game as well as new comers.

Blood Trust resumes the Digital Red Label Series with two new transmissions of dystopian ordeal. ‘Dry Run’ opens with the clenched-jaw tension that he excels at, matching disembodied voices against a rigid pattern of apache syncopation and clockwork drone bombardment. ‘Ecotone’ follows with a bubbling, disfigured stepper that grinds up the heaviest tropes of industrial techno, tech-step, and grime into a morass of collapsing snares and relentless, shifting percussion. Drawing inspiration from the UK’s rich electronica and bass music heritage, Pulses is a hybrid project that merges weighty basslines, shifting rhythms rooted in dubstep structures, and chilly, atmospheric pads. Across its tracks, the album experiments with new forms of arrangements around the 140 bpm mark, crafting tension around simple motifs, layered with intricate sound designs and vivid mixes.

Hidden Element is electronic act from Kyiv, Ukraine. By blending elements of breakbeat, techno and ambient, producer Igor Kirilenko creates forward-thinking music with shifty rhythms, cinematic samples and deep textures. Inspired by classic sci-fi movies, it’s a perfect soundtrack both for crowded ecstatic club nights and solitary mind-wandering.

Igor began releasing tracks as Hidden Element in 2011, firstly as a duo with Nil Tarasov, and now as a solo project. Over the years he released music on various labels including Med School, Pinecone Moonshine, Alphacut, Silent Season, YUKU. 

Project’s track “I See The Light” (feat. Kiyomi Yamashita) was noted by DJ Mag as “Track of the Month”. Track “Reload, Replay” was played by Steve Lamacq on BBC1Xtra. Debut LP “Together” released on Absys Records in 2016 received a number of positive reviews and warm feedback from El Hornet (Pendulum), Ulrich Schnauss and other producers. 

Hidden Element also created official remixes for a variety of artists, from British drum’n’bass legend London Elektricity to Ukrainian pop-singer and Eurovision winner Jamala.

In 2020–2021 Hidden Element manifested a new ambitious chapter with EP trilogy “Comparisons” / “Kontinuum” / “Cycles”. Packed with intense contemporary breakbeat and seasoned with high class remixes from Throwing Snow, Andre Bratten, Prayer, Cocktail Party Effect, these EPs earned praise from Mixmag Japan, Mixmag UK, Mixmag Brazil, BARKS, Qetic, Inverted Audio etc. A bunch of tracks from the trilogy was also aired on BBC Radio 1 in numerous guest mixes.
