On New Year’s Eve 2024, I had the honor of playing a DJ set at Réveillon Duna – an extraordinary and exclusive celebration held in the stunning Lençóis Maranhenses, Brazil. The festival took place in a protected reservoir hidden within the dunes of this surreal desert landscape, making it one of the most unique and unforgettable locations I’ve ever played at.

The production was absolutely world-class: intimate, thoughtfully designed, and carried out with so much love and attention to detail. The crowd was incredible – kind-hearted, open-minded, and extremely welcoming. It was an absolute joy to be part of this experience.

I had so much fun playing my set and I’m truly happy to finally share it with you.

That was quite a wild story back then. Do you remember how we converted our Meeronauten cutter into an icebreaker with DARE? We headed up north until we could see the northern lights in the evening. The sky became a magnificent light show and the snow crystals danced in the wind. When we finally docked, the vast landscape of the tundra spread out mysteriously before us. Quaint sounds and ethereal voices wrapped us with warmth. Like the drums of Siberian shamans, powerful percussion instruments and bearlike beats unveiled to us a path that only finds its true expression through dance.

Where was this place? AmuAmu and Xia Ke joined us with a smile, but instead of answering the question, they turned the soundscapes again and again into new formations that swayed back and forth in our minds like the grass of the steppe in front of the speakers. Basses like mammoths burrowed untamed through the permafrost and the overtone singing of sagacious spirits lingered mystically in the air like mist.

Is that really how it was, you ask? We're not quite sure.
But in the end, the only limit is our imagination! Or the fact that you still haven't pressed "play"... So come on! What are you waiting for?

About this special episode:

These are two next-level DJ mixes that our old friend Desert Raven created from a powerful vision that he had about balance and sacred duality:

Mix 1 called "Yin", a downtempo/psychill/psydub mix. It will reflect the night energies and deeper seasons of the year, Autumn and Winter. More focus on the mystery aspect of vision.

Mix 2 called "Yang" and will radiate stronger energy and power at midtempo and uptempo BPM's, with the growing light of Spring and Summer, with the revelational aspect of the vision, the outward manifestation.

These, by their very vision and scope, are meant to be longer mixes. Desert Raven is sharing his multi-layered sounds, vibes, styles, and grooves, which is a typical set for him, full of progression and deep, powerful storytelling, of which there is nothing like it out there. A very mystical flow and groove.

Next, every set for him is a spiritual experience, a true journey of the soul, and he listens to what his soul, his heart, his mind, his spirit tell him to play, in union with his audience and also in faithfulness to the true vision within him. It is a perfect balance of harmony between him, the artist, and his community. We are one in the mix, so he cannot put limitations and restrictions on the mixes. They are alive and need to be free to best let the energy, spirit, and groove flow as they need to.

SūRAN's journey as an artist began over two decades ago
when he first discovered his innate sense of rhythm while
training as a classical vocalist. That innate sense of rhythm
contributed to an ability to find melodic inspiration in
unexpected places: from the extensive lush rainforests of
Kerala where he traces his roots to the boundless desert
of Dubai, where he was born and raised. This diverse set
of influences is reflected in an ever-evolving sound that's
currently characterized by deep, groovy beats with ethnic
