Electro-Swing is a fusion of electronic dance music and 1920s, 1930's & 1940s Jazz and Big Band styles with genres such as House & Electro music, made popular by artists such as Parov Stelar

The Mix also includes a few tracks from the 'Balkan' style music that uses samples from old Russian / Balkan records. Then at the end of the mix it goes off on a tangent to the 1960s... :oD

Piano Interrupted, the anglo / french duo formed by Tom Hodge and Franz Kirmann is a musical entity in continuous reinvention, their music constantly evolving and transforming from concert to concert, record to record. Studio compositions are deconstructed for live shows, becoming brand new pieces, which in turn serve as a basis for future new compositions, like a never-ending “mise en abyme”
It was just a question of time then before the pair turned to other producers to ask them to rework their music. Concentrating exclusively on material from their last LP “The Unified Field”, Piano Interrupted invited a handful of artists and producers from Denovali Records' roster including Hidden Orchestra, Floex, Origamibiro, John Lemke, Saffronkeira and Second Moon Of Winter to reinvent some of their compositions. Oscillating between dub, techno, abstract hip hop, ambient and post-classical, each interpretation offers a completely fresh approach to the work, sometimes barely recognisable, and sheds new light on the infinite directions that Piano Interrupted's intricate compositions can be taken.
“The Unified Field Reconstructed” is a reminder of the possibilities and a promise of more exquisite exploration in the duo's 3rd album, scheduled for later this year, based on recordings taking place in Senegal (where Franz spent his childhood) in February 2015.

Bryan Ferry’s most recent musical odyssey came in the form of 2014’s critically acclaimed Avonmore album, now the LP gets some very special remix treatment by a connoisseur selection of disco artists from around the globe. The celebrated and tastemaking likes of Leo Zero, Ray Mang, Prins Thomas, Justin Robertson, Leftside Wobble, Idjut Boys, Man Power and many more all lend their well trained ears and serve up some sizzling new versions of the superb originals.
Bryan Ferry is one of the UK’s foremost singer songwriters, a pop artist and musician whose appeal has spanned five decades. With his elegant virtuoso performances as the front man of Roxy Music and his subsequent illustrious solo career Ferry has achieved numerous accolades and has been a great source of influence and inspiration for ensuing generations of musicians. As such, a project like this allows some of these established and rising talents the unique opportunity to add their own spin to Ferry’s singular style.
A broad palette of sounds, scenes and genres are traversed along the course of this absorbing collection. It kicks off in style with two different versions of ‘Loop Di Li’. Leo Zero’s take is sun-kissed and breezy, with trilling riffs and sweeping synths. UK disco don Ray Mang then offers a more pumping, groove driven effort that wraps Ferry’s unique vocals up in neo-Balearic cool.
Next up, the marvellous ‘Midnight Train’ is offered as a late night and romantic affair by Johnson Somerset, a cosmic chugger by Man Power and a characteristically left of centre house version by the inimitable Idjut Boys, famed for being remix kings.
Fans of dubbed out and slo-motion disco will love the brilliant Beard of Concern mix of ‘Soldier of Fortune,’ before five fascinating versions of ‘Driving Me Wild’ take in lush 80s nostalgia, swaggering dub, mechanical psychedelic disco, horizontal grooves and elastic kosmiche from Johnson Somerset, Leftside Wobble, Justin Roberton’s Deadstock 33s, Leo Zero and Ray Mang respectively.
The latter half of the album finds nu-disco pioneer Prins Thomas masterfully flip the title track into a broody affair with corrugated bass and tense, scintillating synth lines, whilst PBR Streetgang work ‘One Night Stand’ into a deep and synthetic disco bomb that will have dance-floors in raptures. Elsewhere Idjut Boys, Ray Mang, Leo Zero & Johnson Somerset offer more expert reworks. Hidden Orchestra layer grand instrumentals and sweeping strings into a dramatic and theatrical remix of ‘Send in the Clowns.’ Leftside Wobble then brings us back down to earth with an intoxicating brew of molten synths, woozy chords and smeared pads that sooth mind, body and soul. Finally ambient pioneer Ulrich Schnauss offers up a supreme adaptation of ‘Johnny & Mary’, Ferry’s timeless collaboration with Norwegian man of the mo- ment Todd Terje.
The rich source material here, along with the wealth of stars chosen to remix it, all make for another fascinating chapter in the life of one of the UK’s most cherished artists.

I'm really excited to bring you this remix album - I was lucky to get many of my favourite producers in the world involved in the project, and they have delivered an amazing range of music, it's a bit silly actually, how good this release is!

I was originally planning to separate it out into several releases, but when I brought all the remixes together I realised it could make an LP of it's own. I tried to order the tracks to provide some flow in this respect, from the beautiful ambience and downtempo sounds of Christian Löffler and Tom Hodge, to Rival Consoles brooding synth epic, into Vessels Aside broken melodic club track, Kimyan Law's beautifully detailed jungle break masterpiece, Patrice Baumel's massive techno remix, Ash Koosha's twisted electronica vision of Kathrin de Boerr, JoeFarr's apocalyptic darkroom disaster, John Tejada's melodic analogue beauties to wind down a little, and Hidden Orchestra's symmetrically structured huge ebb and flow remix of Symmetry to close. So much great work in there, I hope you have time to listen through and enjoy it as much as I do! And massive thanks to Christian, Tom, Ryan, Vessels, Nico, Pat, Ash, Joe, John and Hidden Orchestra for your work on this.

Taken from the forthcoming new album 'False Idols' released on False Idols in association with !K7 Records internationally on 27.05.13 and in the USA on 28.05.13.

Tricky is back. Back with a new album "False Idols". 

The first single, 'Does It', sets the tone. It's a brooding throb of muscular bass, moody handclaps and Tricky's dystopian lyrics. It's ominous, a dark vision of the world that asks why people aren't more angry about the status quo. "People will either get it or not get it," says Tricky. "It's meant to be felt as well as heard - it's primal. Whether people get it or not, the fact is, compared to the over-produced, over marketed stuff out there, it's a wake-up call."

'Does It' is accompanied by a hard-hitting video, which debuted on the Rolling Stone website in March. The imagery is of social unrest, crowds clashing with the police and a troubled Tricky murmuring his lines. It's clearly a political statement. As is the name of his record label, like the album called False Idols. 'Does It' is the first release. 

It's a new start for Tricky. Not that he cares if it works, or if people like it. "I don't give a fuck," he says. "This new album I'll stand behind every track. I don't care whether people like it. I'm doing what I want to do, which is what I did with my first record. That's what made me who I was in the beginning. If people don't like it, it don't matter to me because I'm back where I was."

Back where he belongs.
