For our 23rd Podcast, we welcome Mark Slee who made his label debut with a gorgeous take on Beije's ‘Azimuth’. The US artist and Manjumasi label boss (alongside Atish) has a nearly two-decade long career in the electronic underground. His productions have found a home on Cityfox, Seven Villas and Tenampa Recordings, while he regularly plays San Francisco’s top venues in support of international talents like Danny Tenaglia, Danny Howells, Guy Gerber, Lee Burridge and Stimming. Bespoke Musik follows up their acclaimed VA: Volume One with Powelstad, an EP that is equal parts groove and storytelling, courtesy of longtime collaborators (and borderline telepathic duo) Powel and Christian Voldstad. 

The story began in 2015 at Brooklyn’s Lot 45, where Powel dazzled on the decks and a young Christian Voldstad warmed up the crowd, proving that even scrappy openers can steal hearts. Nearly a decade of countless B2B sets, Burning Man, Berlin, and beyond, the two have fine-tuned their chemistry and along the way, listeners coined the name “Powelstad”.  

Powelstad EP is the result of more than a year of collaborative sessions in Powel’s Berlin studio. It’s a concise expression of both artists' shared musical tastes, incorporating hardware synthesizers and recorded organic instruments. Rounding things out is a stunning remix by Samihe of Minds Alike Records—because perfection always needs a cherry on top.  

Bespoke Musik is proud to finally release the shared production output from some of our favorite family members. Powelstad is not just quality house music; it’s a vibe, a journey, and a gentle reminder to stretch before you hit the dancefloor. Out Jan 31st, 2025 on Bespoke Musik—don’t sleep on it.

Adam Husa’s electric and eccentric world pensively balances dark and light tones, invoking distinctly deep frequencies. For six years, his impact on the Montreal scene has solidified with the growth of Husa Sounds. This electronic music collective and blog is dedicated to curating and nurturing underground artistic experiences, whether intimate local showcases or multidisciplinary raves in abandoned venues - among which a boarding school and a church. Husa Sounds has collaborated with Be-At.TV as well as summoned a steady steam of celestial deep house artists, from Jon Talabot to Miyagi, SuperFlu to Oona Dahl.

Meanwhile, Adam’s diverse sets, conspicuous productions and thumping basslines continue crackling into the night.

On January 27th we played this set on the cliffs of Uluwatu in Bali for the Cercle event feat. Lee Burridge.    Lee took over from us and played a perfect soundtrack for the sunset.    Zone+ closed the event with his amazing grooves.   It was a magical day!
