Dear Loppa. 💖

Tonight you had to leave us, after 16 long years. It was a difficult choice for Mona, but one that I wholeheartedly support – even though it hurts so much knowing that you will never ride along with me on our trips to Valdres again. Never again will you lie next to me in bed, cuddlin. Never again shall we go for long walks and smell all those exciting things along the road, and never again enjoy those treats that you never could get enough of.

It has been eight great years with you, since 2013, when I first started babysitting you, Liza & Thelma. You stole everyone's hearts with your kind and soft manner. Never did you bark, nor jump on anyone or even lick them down like most other dogs do. You were just quiet  and welcomed cuddles for as long as you could have it – otherwise you would just go and lay down  silently in your basket. ❤

I cannot count how many miles of car trips you have taken with me, nor all the walks in the woods. A tired soul has been laid to eternal rest now. And you deserve it so well, little friend. I could see how tired you were these past few years, poor sight, no hearing, stiff and aching joints etc. It would have been malpractice to keep you going at it any further. But still... we all wish we could have one last summer with you also. Our hearts bleed and the tears flow. If there is any afterlife, I know you're in doggy heaven with Thelma and Liza.

Thank you very much Mona, for all the trust I have been given babysitting your dogs. Words can not measure how much love they have given me and mom these years. And thank you for that last little farewell I had with her yesterday at your place. The biggest and warmest hugs as I know how hard this evening have been for you.
