On the Duboko Deep profile on soundcloud, the description begins with the words 'passionate collector & DJ'. After listening to his sets you know that it is better not to say in this case. Duboko translated from Croatian means 'deep', which is also very accurately describes the music DJ, and when you consider that he is fond of music since the late 80s, then the name a second meaning. And such meanings think there's much to find. Hailing from Croatia (Zagreb), he and his work pushes out to a little more deeper into electronic music culture in South-Western Europe, because the last time they like at the hearing and, if such experienced musicians demonstrate there is a good, in our opinion, taste, what there can do more than the younger generation and what potentials can escape. Interesting, isn't it? His sets are very emotional and dynamic and at the same time, it's some kind of space that does not let go and keeps you afloat creating the illusion of weightlessness in dance. In General, enough words, just listen and enjoy!

We don't know a great deal about Volruptus to be honest.  We believe it to be one man, who is from Reykjavik, although his Facebook page suggests he might reside in Berlin.  For a bit more info into who exactly is behind the Volruptus moniker though, that's where his Facebook page stops being useful, stating simply "He brought the BASS from outer SPACE! 2 YER FACE!!! The Unruly and groovy. The sneaky and freaky. The Alien Boogie commander known as Volruptus is on a mission to make you move!".  

So let's focus on what we do know then.  We know that Volruptus's musical output has been absolutely impeccable, in just a few releases, he's defined a sound which takes influence from British rave culture, Detroit electro and more experimental sounds of the 90s but which is wholly his own.  Through releases on Sweaty Records, which may or may not be his own label, Nina Kraviz's, TRIP and fellow countryman, Bjarki's, bbbbbbb, Volruptus's music has managed to become cult in just two short years.  His records are collectables in the making, mysterious, intricate and futuristic whilst remaining undeniably dance floor.  It's probably no surprise that we see him work alongside Kraviz and Bjarki who seem to embody a similar mystique in what they do.  For his Dimensions mix Volruptus seriously delivers, with an hour of energetic but detailed pure space funk from a real life alien boogie commander.
