Die 2004 über das Tape-Label Funkviertel erschienene Tracksammlung dokumentiert die frühe Schaffensperiode des in Berlin aufgewachsenen Rappers. Damals noch weitgehend unbeachtet von einer größeren Öffentlichkeit, propagierte Hiob (als V-Mann) im Schatten der dominierenden Aggro-Berlin-Ära die Rückkehr zum klassischen Soundentwurf der goldenen Neunziger Jahre. Titel wie „96“ und „Ziel auf den Rücken“ bestechen vor allem durch ihren eigenständigen Flow und haben den Test der Zeit längst bestanden. 

“Fragmente“ gilt heute unter Vertretern vieler Schulen als echter Deutschrap-Klassiker.
Für die Instrumentale zeigten sich vor allem Hiob (als Hieronymuz) selbst, sowie die Funkviertel-Weggefährten Marcello, Iso und V.Raeter verantwortlich. 2006 wurde „Fragmente“ im Rahmen der Wiederveröffentlichung als CD über hhv.de um die Titel „Spröde Lippen“, sowie „Nett“ mit dem Leipziger Morlockk Dilemma ergänzt. Diese erste Zusammenarbeit der beiden Ausnahme-Mc‘s legte den Grundstein für spätere Werke wie dem gemeinsamen Album „Apokalypse Jetzt“ (2009). 

Als weitere Gäste treten u.a. Sir Serch, Dj V.Raeter und Marcello sowie das Ex- Kaosloge-Mitglied Mike Fiction in Erscheinung. 

Die LP ist limitiert und beinhaltet zusätzlich eine handsignierte Hiob-Autogrammkarte. Zudem finden sich auf der MP3-Version noch ein Freestyle und die Sommer-Hymne „Am Strand“.
