This compilation is another quality collection of ‘house’ music reflecting on the year that has been. There is no denying that 2021 was weird. Melbourne folk were subject to lockdowns with a 9pm curfew, and like many other parts of the world, live music was put on hold indefinitely. Considering that our first annual compilation 'Locked in the House' focussed on the themes of 2021, it felt only right that our second compilation did the same. From this, ’Home by 909’ was born.

At love Above Records HQ we have always strived to create a community of like minded house-music heads. This year's compilation will not disappoint. We have cast our net far and wide, and have managed to compile a monster 20-track release clocking in at just under 2 hours of listening.

Home by 909 warms up with lush soundscapes before entering into deep house cuts and ending in complete dance floor territory. This compilation rewards those who are committed. 

We are pleased to present Brilliant Times by Benny Salvador. Benny is a young producer from Wellington Aotearoa. He's been releasing dance floor focused tunes on his own label Aunty Records which you can find on Bandcamp. His Aunty Record nights have become an institution in the Wellington club scene and have featured artists such as Marcellus Pittman and Courtesy. Benny Salvadore's track 'Brilliant Times' features an infectious bass line, deep grooves, and a percussive rhythm. An exceptional example of this musical talent.

On november 21st, Accents records will return with a split LP by Teriak and Saïph: a rich blend of experimental and functional tracks, ranging from spaced-out ambient to banging techno.  
The A side by Teriak, half of Subterrean and modular enthusiast, is a shamanic-like initiation to the expressive forces of modular tones, a singular piece of hallucinogenic ambient music that plays with phasing and stratification, layering acid patterns, weeping synths and warped chants to induce an hypnosis state.
The B side by Saïph, a young producer who released an EP on ARTS this year, is a more explicit evocation of dancing rites and nocturnal ceremonies, with a particular focus on sound design details. Through the 4 tracks, Saiph delivers different approaches to the soundtrack of inner euphoria and synchronized mutual bliss. With these heavy rolling kick drums, bold nervous basslines and crackling rhythms, he continues to refine his own signature for our growing pleasure.
This will be available on our bandcamp, digital and physical with a limited edition cassette. The split LP format and the DIY release process are a great way for us to pursue our mission : support the most exciting and unsung artists of our scene and to curate and release their work under the best possible form.

Bio: L’inspiration de Najem trouve sa source dans les sons émis par les machines-outils, les disqueuses ou le soudage à l’arc qu’il entendait résonner depuis l’atelier de construction de grues accolé à la maison de sa petite enfance. Il garde depuis un gout pour les sonorités mécaniques rugueuses, volontiers poussiéreuses et aux réverbérations métalliques que l’on peut retrouver dans tous les genres musicaux qui l’ont marqué: Hip-Hop, New Wave, EBM, Acid-House, Techno, Garage-rock… Ses morceaux publiés sur des labels tels que Clone, Ai, Wolfskuil, sont empreints de ce melting-pot sonore et musical.

Revelation of Sounds is pleased to present Gëinst. With the wish of being a multiple artist staying under a single name, Gëinst keeps doing his musical journey while visiting a wide range of electronic music.

From his own production or selection, he still wants to demonstrate how different music environments could be connected to each other. 

According to his words, this podcast appears as a cozy interpretation of winter.

Thought as a smooth travel, it can drives you from a cottony coach listening session to a drilled voodoo dancefloor.

A particular taste for melodies and organic textures mixed with rough synthetic elements, Gëinst wants to propose a trippy vision of the deepside. 

Bright and blurry combination defined his melancholic state of mind.
