Julie Desire, founder of 'With Us', brings her distinct artistry to the latest edition of the Fuaim series. Based in Paris, she has spent years refining her craft, developing a sound that is both deeply personal and unmistakably bold. Through 'With Us', her queer collective, she has illuminated an unmistakably characteristic sound while amplifying the voices of trans and non-binary artists in electronic music.

This mix is a blistering ode to 90s progressive, infused with vogue-inspired drum patterns and ballroom basslines that pack a punch. Julie’s signature queer house sensibility takes center stage, weaving hypnotic vocal samples and buoyant rhythms into a dynamic, high-energy journey.

SMUT Press is honoured to present Love Handle (Vivienne & Dugong) as our 34th mix in the sounds of SMUT mix series. Love Handle are a DJ duo based in Berlin. 

With incredible sets at parties like Hypersoft, Tender and Dissident, as well as mixes for the likes of Fuaim, Soulseekers Allowance and Radiant Records, Vivienne and Dugong are known to shell a dance floor. Here, they join forces for their inaugural mix as ‘Love Handle.’

Put together over a few months, this tapestry of loops, snippets from interviews and tracks tell a gay rave story. The influences of two djs intertwined, past and present, make the Love Handle sound.

With this one and half hour mix he shows his smooth and meticulous mixing style. The mix is effortless but compelling in such a unique deep and loving way.

"For the IsBurning mix series, it's only logical that I should highlight this record by prolific Dutch producer Dieter Kranenburg, released in 1995 on Urban Sound of Amsterdam. Dutch producers of the mid-90s released so much timeless music at the frontier of different genres that still influence me a lot and can define my style. This track is one of them, combining House and Techno elements that grab my attention : a groovy bass line, sporadic vocals, an atmospheric pad and catchy strings. I also like the track's energy and reverberation, it can be played in different dance floors and can adapt not only to a House, intimate setup but also to bigger rooms with a higher roof, which I particularly like".
