After a successful 2015, Of The Trees returns for his third release on Gravitas Music and his first full length album, “Dream Atlas”. The New England native stays true to his style; effortlessly, he weaves together pure, strong compositions with subtle complexities throughout the free LP. Memorable melodies and familiar hip-hop rhythms mesh perfectly to create these 9 tracks, which feature collaborations with Esseks, The OriGinALz, and The Digital Connection, plus remixes from CloZee and Perkualt0r. 

The title track establishes a charming vibe as the start of the album, with delicate melody and a pleasing sampled atmosphere. Esseks lends his trademark wonky approach to “Business Tripping”, melting the two producer’s distinct stylings as one. Setting the bar for the most hype track on the album, “Kick Back” rumbles hard with it’s filtered alien babbling and intelligent beat structure. “Panama” tickles the ear with both intricate and smooth ingredients, while the inherently psychedelic “Puddled” playfully exhibits experimental ideas mingled atop heavy bass. CloZee’s remix of Dream Atlas showcases her graceful, international aesthetic which fits perfectly with the gentle harmony of the original. The seductive and smooth 6AM takes the mood down a notch, providing a bit of breathing room before Perkulat0r’s remix rounds out the album with a minimal yet luscious Trap affair.

A progressive electronic duo, formed in 2016 by seasoned beatsmith Tsuruda (Darker Than Wax, Team Supreme, Division) and experimental artist Huxley Anne (Dome of Doom/Alphapup), PAINT incorporates all aspects of both member’s creativity. The duo was inspired as the two were coming up in the LA beat scene, often adding visual elements to their live performances while writing genre-defying songs in the studio. Their style draws largely on abstract hip-hop, jazz, bass, and grime influences, but unites these elements into seamlessly painted soundscapes that stand out in the modern sea of electronic music. Their powerful rhythms, colored nuances, and expressive lead synth tones ignite in the PAINT live show, where you can often find the duo mashing custom visuals together while spinning tracks back to back.

“After years of writing together under our solo aliases, this EP has solidified a creative purpose—unifying musical production with a visual aesthetic to elevate electronic music into the realm of art. It also serves a social purpose, placing a man and a woman on equal footing within a technical environment where women are scarcely represented. Fighting against both genre and gender constructs drives our forward-thinking energy inside the musical structure.

When 20/20 LDN approached us about writing an EP, we were ecstatic. They’ve created a platform we value for both the visual aesthetic and their fearlessness in bridging genres within electronic music. For us, working with Ivy Lab on this release is directly in line with our goals of defying genre constructs in order to create art that lives beyond contemporary confines.

This EP is an intellectual apex for us, seeking to defy genres from within their technical and stylistic constructs. By combining sound design techniques from European bass music with the rebellious energy of the LA beat scene, we’ve entered a musical landscape that is not yet defined. The EP’s title, Exodus, represents our departure from genre-based music, opening up a new environment where sound design, aesthetic, synthesis, and culture have become modular tools for exploring the future of electronic production."

Us Americans must show respect towards the one's who's land we stole to celebrate our freedoms. Over the Holidays I challenge you to think about who's land we stole and how many of those innocent people we killed and drove out of our society to eat that Turkey at our Thanksgiving Dinner Table. And I want you to think about how when the Females and People of Color had fought for equality for equal pay, rights such as sitting in the front of a bus like Rosa Parks, and etc. where the peoples land whos  land we've stolen, relatives we've killed, and people we've pushed out and rejected out of our government in order to even have the buses to allow us public transport, the businesses to have the "unfair pay", and the police stations that selfish and racist people abuse just to get a badge to shoot. There is no such thing as a non-racist American, and that there is no such thing as an immigrant on stolen land.
