Thrumming with and excess of pure energy that radiated from the fissures crisscrossing its core, the POWER CUBE hovered slowly through the endless scrapyards at the edge of the city. Its passing briefly snapped the various automata and machines that lay forgotten therein to life, causing their rusted exoskeletons to whirr with motion before the thermal energy produced by the POWER CUBE reduced their complex components into a molten slurry of their base elements. A lost spark that found itself as cosmic flotsam following the destruction of its former body, the cube wandered aimlessly in search of a new housing that it could imbue with purpose and power, one that could also withstand the forces of the reaction that occurred within it.

With a trail of unworthy vessels left languishing in its wake, the POWER CUBE came to the edge of the scrapyard, where the dunes of a vast desert lapped abrasively at the weathered remains that had first been dumped at this site. It had glided across the sands, further into the wastelands, when the ground beneath it began to shake in resonance with its energetic emanations. From the depths of the sands began to emerge the bones of a colossus wrought of crude materials that did not falter before the cube’s radiance. They coalesced around it’s core, the closest structures glowing red hot from the power of the device that now rested within their protective embrace. Together, both cube and colossus summoned forth the abilities necessary to take a single lumbering step, shaking the earth and resettling the dunes around them as they began their operations as a whole. Lacking a body no longer, the POWER CUBE expelled some of its excess energy and the great behemoth roared to life, it's earthworn and rusted body setting off into the wastes that lay before it.

The futuristic sonics of CURRENT VALUE make their debut on EATBRAIN with POWERCUBE, the latest EP that can be found within the artist’s endlessly expansive catalog. Within POWERCUBE, CURRENT VALUE delivers a masterwork display of his high tech sounds, delivering three tracks that are set to galvanize the EATBRAIN horde and the ears of all who might hear their alien tones.

Within the catacombs lay an artifact from a primordial age, untouched by the ravages of time under the protection of the magical wards that surrounded it and sealed within a series of hidden chambers and mazelike passages filled with untold horrors and traps that would deter even the most determined of invaders. The extent of this labyrinth was necessitated by the twin opposing powers represented by the artifact and its resting place, each capable of causing untold destruction should they be unleashed upon the world without being kept in check by the other. As such, the pair had been frozen in time this way for millennia, a lasting warning of the old powers that were better left unawakened.

In cataclysms that created the world, beings of unrestrained primordial energy roamed the land and constantly reshaped it to their will amidst a never-ending chaos of destruction. Those minor beings who hid beneath their feet had little recourse against the incursions of these beasts, and even should one be felled by their greatest of warriors it would only be reborn again from within the heart of the primordial chaos. So it was that the most skilled mages & craftsmen among them toiled for generations to create a blade that could pierce this endlessly beating heart, and bring tranquility to this world that had suffered under chaos for so long. Thus it was that the wards had been set and that the great labyrinthine temple had been constructed, for as the blade pierced the heart of all primordials it did further seal their power within the wound, so requiring that it may never be removed again lest it let their power spill forth into the world once more. To truly murder beings of such power, the ancestors had learned, one must hold the blade within their viscera for all eternity.

NUVERTAL after a brief appearance on Gydra’s album delivers his debut EATBRAIN release onto the ears of the label’s horde with REAL MURDER, an EP featuring three solo tracks and a collaborative work with EATBRAIN veterans GYDRA. Within, NUVERTAL brings a set of sonics that surge upon the oscillations of the EP’s electrified synths, fusing finely honed highs with devastatingly weighted basses for a work that is ready to energize the monstrous hearts of the EATBRAIN horde.

Born atop the forgotten ruins of a crumbling city, a new civilization had emerged from the ruin wrought by demonkind upon the landscape that lay beneath them. Lead by their prophets of a new and powerful faith, the people of this civilization had risen up against the demon kings, wielding the magic of their divine allies as weapons with which to exorcise their being once more from the land. This war though hard fought had born fruit, and with the slaying of the final demon the people had rejoiced, celebrating their victories with monumental constructions to mark the beginning of a new and golden era. Foremost of these was the great cathedral that lay at the heart of their new city, built both as a space of worship for the populace and as an eternal ward of imprisonment for the souls of demonkind which could not be slain, forever condemning them to an incorporeal existence under the watchful eye of the divine.

Ages had passed since then, and time had once again ground its steady edge against the minds of the people and upon the stones and timbers that had supported the great city for so long. Ritual had been forgotten, and structures of greater grandeur had been built as the city expanded, relegating it’s once monumental cathedral to neglect. Thus it was that the falling of only a single candle had lit an aged timber in it’s great hall, in so doing weakening the ancient wards that had kept the demonic spirits at bay. Ever vigilant in their ceaseless desire to escape, the demon kings fanned this flame with their focused ire, nurturing it from a single mote into a overwhelming conflagration that tore at the runic chains that had bound them for so long. Before long, the roaring of the flames was augmented by the howls of demonic spirits set free from a millennia of imprisonment, their visages taking form in the fire as manifestations of their burning rage. As the inferno bellowed ever higher, the city cowered in fear, for it was clear that the time of DIVERGENCE had come once more.

EATBRAIN unleashes the full fury of their horde with the fourth installment in their DIVERGENCE compilation series, a gargantuan 26 track compilation filled to the brim with new tracks from EATBRAIN mainstays and newcomers alike. The colossus watched over them, those blessed ones whose ancestors it had saved many centuries ago. Though its eyes had long shut, closed gently in a sleep that would last for eons, those who went about their lives below knew that they were safe beneath its gaze and had therefore built their homes here. Their ancestors had first built upon the ground at the colossus’ feet, a modest settlement of thatch and wood established in symbiosis with their slumbering guardian. The years had passed and the settlement had grown, with all who grew up beneath the giant’s shadow learning to revere the being as a brother, a father, a grandfather, and an ancestor. 

Since those early times, the small settlement had become a bustling city, and yet the colossus’ benevolent influence was still felt by all who tread there. The people had learned to construct towering structures that rivaled the being’s height, but none were allowed to be built higher than his slumbering stature. The citizens within tended to the colossus’ appearance, trimming his beard and hair as it was said that he once wore them, before spinning the excess upon great looms that produced fine textiles that were the envy of the land. As dirt, rain, and seeds had settled into the crevasses of the colossus’ armor, forests had sprung up upon the great being, and from these forests the people harvested the fruits of nature, being sure to maintain them such that these growths would not harm their guardian. These and many further gifts did the colossus give to the people, and thus at his feet did they build a great temple, where the living worshipped and the dead were interred, safe within the hollow provided by the giant’s hulking form as it slumbered within life eternal.

Austrian talent MANTA continues his rise after releasing on Neonlight’s Diascope and the German neurofunk powerhouse Hanzom Music and makes his EATBRAIN debut with “Don’t Wake Me Up”, an EP filled with monumental sonics that stands set to begin the construction of this newcomer’s legacy as he rises to his full stature before the EATBRAIN horde.
