After an extended hiatus from making her own music due to the death of her brother, Eyeree Kanaree has finally decided to bless the world with her first single entitled 'Still Want You'. Its a lovely song giving your ears the tasteful reminders of an early Sade', but with the new feel of INDIGO SOL which is slowly but surely making its way back to the Hip Hop and R&B scene. Accompanied by the lyricism of Travis Little, you can't help but bump your head and press repeat to ride the musical roller coaster over and over again.

Molly Moore really took a semi truck to the feels on this one. It hit us like a Natural Disaster. (Get it??) Okay, but for real we heard this and it struck a chord for us, so we added our own and made this summers eve song to play when you just want to close your eyes and lose yourself.

Lars Moston & Malente - Outside [NO BRAINER REC.]

Head a little north of Gothenburg and you’ll find Mjörn, a small island wedged in-between its two bigger island siblings, Tjörn and Orust. Look closer at Mjörn and you’ll unearth a little place called Timmerdalen. Peer closer still and you’ll discover hidden amongst the gnarled-windswept pines and cliffs a small wooden house. 

During the summer of 2014 we decided it was time to record our third album. We’d already started sketching out rough ideas that February, during a few warm days in a cramped space in L.A. When the opportunity arose to borrow the house in Timmerdalen for a week, our thoughts began to wander. Could we go there and record a whole album? Take with us all our recording equipment, all our instruments, buy everything we’d need for our stay, work intensively and not leave until we’d recorded an album? 

Well that’s what we did. We wrote, recorded, rewrote, played and recorded some more, early till late, through warm afternoons into cool summer nights. When we left, we had made a record. Which we then compiled and mixed in our rehearsal space at Studio Möllan, Malmö. For us, this record is a document of an intense week of abundant creativity mixed with writer's block. A week of tired ears on stubborn heads and ultimately the crystallisation of our ideas. That’s how it was for us, for those of you listening perhaps it will be something else.

While attending Purchase College Nicole Schneit met Dan Deacon, a friend and former collaborator who once described her comforting songs as something akin to "a favorite blanket wrapped around you."  Though she played in several bands in college (including the noise jam band Ferrari with Deacon) she eventually shifted her focus to writing and recording intimate pop songs under the name Air Waves, a moniker inspired by the title of a Guided by Voices song. 

After extensive touring in support of her 2010 album Dungeon Dots, Schneit took some time off from writing.  "It was crucial for my creative process to take a step back from making music. Part of being a performer is having confidence to just be vulnerable. I needed to regain that confidence to make an album again after Dungeon Dots," she says.  The vulnerability she speaks of is part of what makes her music as Air Waves so compelling.  Even her fictional narratives employ an almost preternatural honesty that feels emotionally naked, exposed, and ultimately relatable.     

Her new album Parting Glances takes its title from the 1986 film of the same name, in which Steve Buscemi portrays a gay man navigating the difficulties of being in a relationship in Reagan-era New York.  "I've never seen a film with Steve Buscemi in it that I didn't love," says Schneit.  More than just identifying with the story, she's interested in the in the lasting effect of the parting glances we share with strangers in our everyday encounters.  She explains "You see all sorts of physical and emotional traits on the train. From people puking, making out, screaming, crying, laughing, dancing, grooming, etc.  We encounter each other in the thick of our complex lives by simply looking at each other all the time. These glances are mundane and fleeting but also powerfully intimate."  The lingering impact of those brief moments seeps into the details and imagery she delivers through her lyrics on Parting Glances.  With energizing hooks and a disarming lack of pretense, the songs on Parting Glances burn with ebullient energy and an emotionally engaging core from beginning to end.
