In celebration of our 25th Anniversary Odell is sharing an “oldie but goodie” from one of his earliest recording projects.  Odell recorded a few songs in the mid 1990s to share with flute players who were looking for songs to play along with, and to encourage them to create songs of their own.

About the song New Moon, Odell said “My motivation for this song came one summer evening. I was sitting on the covered porch while the monsoon lightening and rains were moving in to shower us with the ever-bountiful water it brings in the summer months, and I was inspired to create this song.”

The Yoga Sessions: Hang with Angels is Masood Ali Khan’s second album, and the fifth release in the critically acclaimed The Yoga Sessions series from Yoga Organix and White Swan Records.

This song is from the Lemko people, an ethnic group inhabiting Lemkivshnchyna, a part of Transcarpathia (spanning Ukraine, Slovakia and Poland) who have been displaced from their homeland for years. The spoken language of the Lemkos, which is somewhat of a language in its own right, is a dialect of Russian or Ukrainian.
