Got the name Hi Hat in Cali before 2000 as the soundman for the Roots at a UC show  for the hat he was wearing while he added delay and platey reverb to Questlove's drums at the end of one song, reggae dub style.  In 2004 Flavor Flave instructed him in person on mixing styles that grab from the old engineers of the era, and Eric the Remix King taught him some n 2017, and Diamond D in 2019, a meeting of the minds engineered by a friend.  His work at Chestnut Sound, the fourth biggest studio in Philadelphia during the East Coast Family era helped blaze his career as a producer who collaborated with Ramu Pandit, tabla, in Varanasi, India, Max Roach,  Miles Davis' Drummer, Aceyalone, Styles, Machette Dready, Tre Wop, Maceo of De La Soul, B Love, Maya, LL Cool Jay's guitarist in Momma Said Knock You Out Unplugged, and working at Fat Mike of NOFX's studio where Kurt Cobain had left a couch for an album he produced a few years before.  He studied at University of California and Art of Audio and mixes quality production and the best instruments including MPC Live, Pro Tools and Roland/ Korg vintage keyboards with trail-blazing innovation.
