EPHEMERE is an independent music project blending influences from Electronica, Progressive Rock and TripHop.

Beyond the borders of genres and the limitations of 4-minute-songs, EPHEMERE celebrates the sensation of being on the road, out there, in all its aspects - doubting, yearning, wondering, venturing - uniting great melodies, driving rock elements, hand-crafted analog synthesizer sounds and sophisticated arrangements.

History:
EPHEMERE was founded in Heidelberg, Germany, in 2001 by the brothers Jan and Ole Schoenmakers (both Keyboards, Synthesizers, Beats, Vocals). In 2004, the live-album "Outside the Golden Cage" was self-released. In 2005, Ole left EPHEMERE while Jan recorded sessions with guitarist Houssein Take in Missouri (not released) and the EP "Hologram" (released 2006) with Electronica-producer Leo Frappier in San Francisco. 2006-2010, Christine Schoenmakers contributed artwork, bass and some vocals. In 2009, Karsten Block (Guitar, Bass, Organs, Drums) joined EPHEMERE and contributed to the EP "Hologram II" (released 2009). The LP "Niemandsland" featuring Jan, Karsten and various guests has been released in cooperation with (now-defunct) Whiterock Records August 15, 2013. Later that year, EPHEMERE contributed to the international Alphaville-tribute compilation "We Heard The Call vol. II" (RobertPreussler16 Records). Celina Koch joined in 2015, contributing guitars and some vocals. Since 2016, Sascha Hilgarth chips in beats and grooves. 2019, "Hobos & Architects", EPHEMERE's longest and most diverse record thus far, is released.

Ephemere states to be influenced by various artists such as Archive, Alphaville, Bike for Three, BeeGees, The Church, Eating Snow, Get Well Soon, IamX, John Frusciante, Kate Buch, Klaxons, Moderat, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Puscifer, Silversun Pickups, Spleen United, Tricky and Ultravox of the John Foxx Era.
