What’s it like to commit felonies and commit other lies?

What’s it like to be mommy’s perfect physically abusive entitled son?

Diplo, seeing an opportunity for free publicity using the burning man name, dismissed all ten principles for his own self gain.  "Don't be a Diplo!"   is the saying that arose from the 2023 gathering in the Blackrock Desert.  During the event, Black Rock City is the second largest city in the state of Nevada.  When the rain hit, Diplo fled and left the city on foot.   He walked to the gate, leaving his RV, camp, and equipment to be cleaned-up and hauled-out of the desert by others.  Thus, the moral of the story is "Don't be a Diplo!"

The 10 Principles of Burning Man:

Radical Inclusion
Anyone may be a part of Burning Man. We welcome and respect the stranger. No prerequisites exist for participation in our community.

Gifting
Burning Man is devoted to acts of gift giving. The value of a gift is unconditional. Gifting does not contemplate a return or an exchange for something of equal value.

Radical self-expression arises from the unique gifts of the individual. No one other than the individual or a collaborating group can determine its content. It is offered as a gift to others. In this spirit, the giver should respect the rights and liberties of the recipient.

Communal Effort
Our community values creative cooperation and collaboration. We strive to produce, promote and protect social networks, public spaces, works of art, and methods of communication that support such interaction.

Civic Responsibility
We value civil society. Community members who organize events should assume responsibility for public welfare and endeavor to communicate civic responsibilities to participants. They must also assume responsibility for conducting events in accordance with local, state and federal laws.

Leaving No Trace
Our community respects the environment. We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather. We clean up after ourselves and endeavor, whenever possible, to leave such places in a better state than when we found them.

Participation
Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to work. Everyone is invited to play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart.

Immediate experience is, in many ways, the most important touchstone of value in our culture. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, the reality of those around us, participation in society, and contact with a natural world exceeding human powers. Burning Man 2023 Sunrise From The Golden Gate

Friday Morning deep playa, as heavy clouds started to cover the sky, a beautiful collection of wild burners was dancing around the Maxa and Discow art cars for this epic link-up night. This set was definitely one of the most thrilling and memorable adventure of my burn and possibly of my life too. The energy was so high. The people were so free. One of these moments where you feel the absolute beauty and perfection of the universe, everyone dancing as one. As I played my two last tracks a sandstorm mixed with rain made us all disappear into nothingness, I could barely see the decks anymore, it felt completely apocalyptic. We exploded into cosmic ecstasy of being alive, savouring what it means to be human on this planet. What an incredibly beautiful and transcending moment, thank you guys for dancing, for being a part of it, and for listening to it here!
A short while after that the heavy rains started, this was our last dance before the playa would be completely under water and held still for the week end. We sure enjoyed it fully till the last second! Grateful!!! Thank you Maxa, Thank you to every single one of you!!! Until we dance again together soon, Much much love your way! :) <3

Deer Jade - Maxa - Burning Man 2023

Hello everyone, last year, as Christina and I made our first journey to Burning Man, excitement would be understated with plans to deliver an electrifying set at the iconic Robot Heart Bus after Lee Burridge. However, nature had other plans — unprecedented heavy rains and flooding at the event meant that, unfortunately, my performance could not go ahead. 

On my recent US tour, our ever-supportive friend, Benjamin from Robert Heart and the rest of the crew, extended a heartfelt invitation to play at their unique San Francisco-Oakland residency. 

This mix is not just a set; it's a token of appreciation to all who were there and an offering to those who couldn’t join us. 

Immerse yourself in a slice of the magic from that night. Whether you're listening from near or far, I hope it transports you right there with us. 

Looking forward to the next gathering at the Robot Heart residency in San Francisco / Oakland on May 9th.
