Schneeland contains two parts: the first four tracks deal with snowfall, the following four with the landscape it forms.

The titles have been kept in simple Roman numbers, so that the songs may develop without having been given a name - much like a landscape, which doesn‘t need words to be discerned.

Words are for communication - but Schneeland is an hommage to introspection through isolation.

The artist recommends listening to the album when alone, so the listener gets as close as possible to his original perception of his description of vastness and transience.
In this way one gets in touch with the emotional states that are more easily accessible in the silence of winter time.

Arshan Najafi (b. 2001) is a Composer, Sound Artist, Visual Artist and Poet. He started playing the Violin at the age of ten and later decided to study Kamancheh (Persian Spike Fiddle) with  Saba Alizadeh. 
His piece, “Transgression in Common City” for solo Flute was one of the selected pieces for Petrichor Records “Call  for Young Iranian Composers” that led to some private lessons with Chaya Czernowin, Reza Vali, Arshia Samsaminia  and Mohammad Amin Sharifi. 
His pieces have been presented and published by Spectro Centre for New Music, Noise à Noise records, Petrichor  Records, Unexplained Sounds Group, Cold Spring Records and XOR Space. His debut book “Twenty Wrong Turns” was published by Aso Publications in the summer of 2022 in Tehran.

This piece may might have good 1/f fluctuation characteristic although I stopped investigating it each piece.

I'm now making Archive site of Piano Ten Thousand Leaves project by utilizing #wordpress. Basically nice direction I've already gotten.. : )

It has been many months since I've found the inspiration to improvise on the keys. I began to think to myself that my improvisational skills were not worthy enough, and had a difficult time enjoying the music that came out of these improvs, so I lost the drive to improvise and stopped. Lately, I decided to get back into it. Still not really satisfied with the results since I'm probably also rusty at it, but at least I've found some motivation to try again. However, I intend to continue my diary of piano improvisations and to get better. Hopefully with more attempts, and with more time doodling at the keys, I will improve at this skill of improvising. 

As always, I'd appreciate any comments on what you think of the piece.

Piano Improvisation No. 59

It's been three years since the instrumental music band featuring a dark and cinematic sound, Anoice, released their fourth EP 'invisible wall’, which expressed the world that has been facing off against the effects of the the COVID-19 pandemic. They will release the fifth EP 'unerasable fire' which pairs with 'invisible wall' on April 7th, 2023.

Just like the previous EP, it mainly consists of quiet and dark neo-classical compositions such as 'the suspicion' and 'keep silence' featuring Films, who sing in their own originally created languages in the same named project produced by Anoice, and Calu who is the vocalist of the electronica unit, Matryoshka. It also includes exciting songs that mix the sounds of a spectacular orchestra sound with instrumental rock such as 'civil war' and 'monster'.

Division, isolation, and war. This is new release which Anoice can only express at a time when the world confronts new problems generated after the pandemic period. Please have a listen to the previous EP 'invisible wall' again while you wait for the upcoming 'unerasable fire'.
