Our friend Fabio connected us with Nikolai aka Pshiuu half a year ago 
and we were blown away by his productions. He showed us a track that 
was currently in development and we loved it straight away. Planet 
Caravan, Amu Amu and in this case Mujia,Tajo & Maloua Lou were happy 
to remix it and we are delighted to now release this beautiful EP into 
 the world.

Canto Rodado is a type of stone that has been worn smooth by erosion; or even moved to another place by a river or glacier. One of those that can be found near a lake or in the middle of a desert.
In her recordings of acoustic instruments like a very old Piano, a nylon-string guitar, a trumpet and a Tibetan bowl ideas become their own subject, striving for their very own uniqueness. Like in a dialectic process the recordings took their own identity, searching for their uniqueness, rather that merely supporting.
Structures erode and eventually become something new.
Time will be the water that shapes noises to become melodies.

K:  I grew up in a very music loving family. There always was a lot of music being heard, made by ourselves and a lot of dancing,
therefore it was around me from early on.  Also I tried to learn different instruments and different dance styles in my childhood, and in the end i was the one responsible for the music at private parties by putting together playlists for it. 
My friends always told me that maybe I should become a real DJ - which I did and I have loved it ever since.

Najesh & Artišoko:Music has always had a special meaning for each of us. Via Soundcloud, we got to know https://soundcloud.com/whatmomoplays , a friendship developed quickly. He awakened in us the interest in mixing, taught us the basics and promoted us by booking us after super short time to Frankfurt for our very first Gig. He stood by us especially in our early days, always believing in our musical ear and our creativity. Still today he is our friend and mentor even if we have left the nest long ago.

After a May 2022 debut on Particles, Maximilian Peter returns to Particles with his Kerosino production moniker. "Kerosino II" continues where the German artist's first eponymous album left off and three new originals are joined by remixes from Hrag Mikkel and about : river.

Opening proceedings, "Batiri" is a smooth 10-minute offering that shimmers with beautifully arpeggiated synth lines and metronomic beat. A head-shaking metallic percussion adds to the groove while shuffling hi-hats create another layer of syncopation. In tandem, a delicate 303-inspired motif coruscates across the track, rising and falling with gentle energy. "Tikila" immediately appeals with its darker edge as a deep kick locks quickly against a repetitive bass groove. Changing perceptions through melodic persuasion, a lighter motif meanders across the track making its presence felt with filtered energy as it syncopates elegantly with bass and rhythm. The final piece of the jigsaw sees a digitised voice proclaim the "Tikila" title at regular intervals throughout. The third track finds "Zazafi" presenting a dance-friendly bass groove sat within tight kick and sharp percussion. Following the same narrative as its EP partners, a beautifully sculpted arp makes its mark with plucked ease while a wonderfully sustained bassline progression adds a touch of class at the breakdown before a rousing crescendo and spoken sample heralds the return of melody, rhythm and groove through the third movement.

A powerful force within the Lebanese underground dance fraternity, Hrag Mikkel has found a way of turning the adversity felt in his homeland into a steady supply of dynamic and sought-after productions. Finding his music featured on some of the finest modern imprints: from Pipe and Pochet and Proton Music to Hoomidaas and Harabe, the Beirut star makes his Particles debut with a stunning reimagining of "Flamencano" from Kerosino's debut. Upping the tempo from the original, the Hrag Mikkel remix evolves quickly into a joyous rhythmic groove as beautiful synth lines swirl across the track in counterpoint patterns. Retaining the underlying themes form Kerosino's stripped back original, Mikkel's skill is to open up new melodic paths with a swathe of additional production that creates a powerful dancefloor gem. Glittering into the second half with new piano phrases and deep sub-bass groove, the result is a superb new reworking.

Regulars on Particles over the past 12 months, the father and son double act of Oleg and Ervin Ivanov have created quite a stir with their about : river pseudonym. Hitting early heights with their "Go Into The Mist" EP in June 2021, the Estonian pair showcased their unique sound to the Particles faithful before "Round Table Jams: In Between (Live)" provided a moment of electronica reflection and seven cuts of rare beauty in April 2022. Remixes for Davide Ferrario and Chihaka are now joined by a third with another reworking of "Flamencano". Full of melodic sensitivity, the about : river remix quickly creates a strong rhythmic and melodic groove that captures themes from Kerosino's original before adding layers of subtle intrigue, not least through Ervin's haunting clarinet lines. Retaining echoes of Kerosino's rhythmic structure, the result is another trademark offering from the about : river studio, full of poise beauty and grace.

S: so so tell me what was your first loves at first sight track from childhood ?
M:I don’t know if it was the first one, but I really loved Rapper's Delight by the Sugarhill Gang. I printed out the thousand pages of lyrics to be able to rap the whole track by heart :D
S:..and the ast track you digged?
M: Ektoplast - Incendie
S:..and maybe could you tell us how did you fall into the music cooking pot ?
M:Already as a child, I loved recording mixtapes for vacations, inline skating or dancing. I always shared my passion for music with my grandfather, to whom one track in this Mix is also dedicated. I learned to play a bit the guitar as a teenager, as a young adult I experienced my passion for electronic music and at some point I slipped into the event scene with my old collective where a friend showed me how to mix. At one of our parties, I was Djing for the first time and I was directly hooked! At that time I used to play mostly Trip Hop and then slowly switched to Downtempo. In this Mix I want to combine old and also some relatively new tracks that reminds me on special moments and inspired me a lot in the past and still do. Recently I fell deeper in the music pot by starting producing and I'm curious where this journey goes :)

On the day of the vernal equinox, the world was awash in a riot of colours and sounds that defied logic and reason. The sky was a deep shade of purple, and the clouds were made of shimmering silver. The trees and flowers had taken on strange, otherworldly shapes, their branches and petals twisting and turning in unpredicted ways. People in this land had their own unique customs and traditions for celebrating the vernal equinox. Some gathered around bonfires, dancing and singing to ward off evil spirits. Others fasted and meditated, seeking clarity and renewal.

In addition, remixes are coming by Zuma Dionys from Russia and French born Lopal who appear on down for the first time. The result are 4 tracks which all transfer a different mood of downtempo music. We are proud to present the debut EP of the talented artist Pshiuu, who already crossed our path last year.

Starting with the single “Das Kind im Weltall” and then participating in the last down.tape, his freshly produced Fable EP is now available, which again reflects the musical development of Pshiuu.

For 2 Tracks he teamed up with his friends MONKYMAN and DJ Fehlt, but all four tracks will take you on a journey you want to repeat immediately. We are very curious about what Pshiuu will release in the future and we will be happy to follow it up closely.
