Unsere ruhige und entspannte Nummer 85 kommt heute vom Erlanger DJ und Produzent Rafaele Castiglione. Seine Heimat hat er beim Berliner Label Amselcom und dessen Slomo-Ableger Drossel gefunden. Seine Produktionen und DJ-Sets bestechen durch seine unglaubliche Vielfalt an Einflüssen. Mal Hang, südamerikanisch Töne, orientalische Beats und ruhige Melodien --- aber immer traumhaft zusammengeführt. Zurzeit ist Rafa viel als DJ unterwegs und wird auch in diesem kommenden Sommer auf einigen tollen Festivals zu sehen sein --- unter anderem auf dem Zugvögel OpenAir oder dem traumhaften Uckeralm Festival.

Rafaele Castiglione presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr.85

We are happy to present a mix by @san-miguel-berlin as our 42th IST. He's dj, producer and founder of Phonothek Records, based in Berlin. As an creative and outgoing guy he wanted to share his passions in many ways, so he also founded „Einfach Liebe“ – a community of various artist and a pool for a variety of events like festivals, healing gatherings and much more – all in the mission of love.
Ever since he was a child the acoustic world was always the centre of San Miguels universe. Grown up in East Berlin he was diving deeper and deeper into the sound of the multifarious city of tunes, so music turned into his passion. Mixed at his blooming yard, this 42th edition is a colorful journey which pulls together vibrant melodies and tunes. It’s a smooth ride inspired by the summertime and it’s festivals. Tune in, that’s all!

The Artist and Producer Mirco Niemeier is a true Berliner of the old scene of his city. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he had the chance to live the open minded music revolution of these golden times and so he savored to the fullest. At this time he was inspired by synthesizer sounds of the 80´s & 90´s, which smooth the way forwards electronic music.
“Groove, melody, fat basslines, atmospherically sounds and unexpected stories” from house to techno: this is how we could sum-up the musical style of Mirco, influenced by a wide selection of producers and labels, including Âme, Steve Bug, Ricardo Villalobos, Robosonic, DJ Koze and labels like Poker Flat, Sonar Kollektiv, Perlon, Noir and Suara, among others. With accurate mixes, full of power and good vibes, his sessions will lead you to dance till the end!
Mirco has already released a whole bunch of ep´s and remixes for Metanoia, Circle Music, Whatiplay, Sunset Handjob, Off Recordings, Kindisch and more. He recently launched a brand new side project in collaboration with his fellow partner Beatamines, producing together under the moniker of Ektschn!, with two vinyl ep´s, signed on Super Flu’s label Sunset Handjob. So we can look forward to new projects and stuff, because boredom is a loanword for Mirco!

Today we share with you the first two hours of our 6.5 hour virtual rave that we hosted last Friday for our closest friends. What started as a slightly cagey and delicate exercise quickly devolved into a wild zoom party that was too good to stop. Thank you to all of our lovers and friends for joining us from their bedrooms, kitchens, gardens and living rooms. These first two hours are an eclectic mix of music we have been inspired by since the world turned upside down. Big love to the artists and producers who need our support now more than ever.

Laschan Laschan Podcast #26 (Jola Luz)

A magic carpet ride around the world. Welcome aboard!

We played a chill world house music set on KXLU 88.9FM on the show "In A Dream" hosted by @mysticpete in the beginning of the year before the pandemic and lockdowns hit USA.

Since we were playing from 4-6PM on a Friday which is peak traffic commute radio hour we wanted to ease everyone into the weekend with some groovy tunes from around the world, blurring boundaries between genres and styles, set to chill house beats for a perfect start to the weekend. 

We ended with a track featuring a powerful speech from Greta Thunberg, ending with the words - "The real power belongs to the people", a message, we thought would inspire us for the year that had just begun. Little did we know, that the world was about to turn upside down, and teach us the very same thing. 

We never ended up recording the set, because this year wrecked us. We spent the year stuck in a creative rut, busy keeping the lights on and barely managing to stay safe and sane. We finally lifted our heads and it was already December, and we convinced ourselves to record the set thanks to some hope and inspiration offered by friends around us. 

Our only hope is that this set spreads some joy. We are all in this together and we will make it through. 

The real power belongs to the people!
