Escape the Void Crisis – Hypnotic and raw, Mediocracy EP is PETRU’s latest journey into gritty techno, exploring the shifting moods and tensions across the architecture of techno spaces. Built on dissonant synths and syncopated grooves, the main track evokes the shiny superficiality of our modern world, and comes with an alternative mix that cuts straight to the core.

ØLMØ’s remix enhances the tension with polymetrical sequences and granular textures, injecting hypnotic, trippy energy; while SETHI ONE delivers a mechanical, mental reinterpretation, blending industrial drones and spontaneous grooves for a twisted live take.

The EP also features Prelude to Mediocracy, an ambient, cinematic soundscape closing the journey with atmosphere and depth.

In light of PETRU’s upcoming album, Mediocracy EP forms a vivid chapter into the techno realm, reflecting psychological tensions and the universal urge to break free.

With his surprise fifth studio album ‘Magickal’ continuing to resonate across the global electronic landscape, Damian Lazarus now unveils the second half of the project’s ambitious remix series. Out 26th September via Crosstown Rebels, ‘Magickal Remixed (Part II)’ enlists the talents of Cinthie, Timo Maas, and Anthony Middleton, with each of the three celebrated artists bringing their unique perspective to the Crosstown head’s latest long-player. Arriving in both digital and vinyl formats, this three-track package builds on the energy of Part I, which featured takes from Harry Romero, Jonathan Kaspar, and Mëstiza, and THEMBA’s earlier remix of lead single Searchin’, continuing a journey that reimagines Magickal’s most defining moments through fresh, club-ready interpretations.
Opening the release, Berlin favourite Cinthie takes on ‘Y Don’t U’, injecting her signature analogue warmth and groove-driven touch into the album cut, reworking it into a silky, floor-focused workout that radiates her unmistakable house sound. Longstanding innovator Timo Maas steps up next with his remix of ‘Warrior Dance’, Lazarus’ amapiano-inspired collaboration with Ghanaian artist Jojo Abot. Stripping back and rebuilding the track into a hypnotic, low-slung affair, Maas balances subtle percussive detail with deep, pulsating basslines to create an intoxicating new dimension. Closing out the EP, Anthony Middleton, formerly one half of Audiofly, reshapes the soulful ‘So Low’ featuring Zoe Kypri into a textured and emotionally charged journey, weaving its vocal lines through expansive sound design and rolling grooves.
As Damian unveiled at the album’s initial shock drop, ‘Magickal’ was conceived as a complete body of work, capturing clarity, transformation, and a deepened sense of connection. With ‘Magickal Remixed’, that world is opened up further, with close friends and esteemed peers recasting its tracks in their own artistic languages, providing a multifaceted exploration of the original record’s spirit and purpose.

Manchmal ist es eine Frage der Perspektive. Es ist diese alte Geschichte: Wenn du vom Elefanten nur ein Bein wahrnimmst, hältst du es vielleicht für einen Baum. Erst verschiedene Blickwinkel vermitteln einen vollständigen Eindruck.
So ist es auch beim Rahmen. Für die einen bedeutet er Orientierung, Fokus, Sicherheit oder das Regelwerk für ein gutes Spiel. Für die anderen bedeutet ein Rahmen Begrenzung, Einengung, Vorschrift oder ein unangemessenes Narrativ. Beide Perspektiven haben ihre Berechtigung abhängig von Raum, Zeit und beteiligten Personen.
Natürlich sind unterschiedliche Blickwinkel keine alternativen Fakten. Ein Feuer in der Carakum-Wüste ist kein Dattelhain. Jedoch hängt die Bedeutung einer Tatsache von unserer Perspektive ab. Hinter manchen Perspektiven stecken Bedürfnisse. Das ist menschlich. Ich will tanzen, du willst tanzen. Probieren wir es miteinander? Nicht jeder Tritt auf den Fuß ist böse Absicht. Manchmal ist es Ungeschicklichkeit, manchmal sogar lustig und manchmal hast du einfach selbst einen echt wilden Move gemacht. Manchmal ist es ein Weckruf… Wenn wir verlernen, verschiedene Perspektiven zu teilen, sehen wir Bäume, wo Elefanten sind, sehen wir Trennendes, wo Gemeinsamkeiten sind, erfüllen sich Ängste statt unserer Bedürfnisse. Und am Ende sehen wir vielleicht nur Buchstaben, wo eigentlich Meeronauten Musik zu hören ist!

Kolibri Live LP, the debut album by PETRU KSS, begins its journey.
This first release unveils two tracks from the album alongside their remixes.

Genesis, bold opener, ignites the voyage with hypnotic sequences and raw intensity.
Trieuoppa follows with shifting rhythms and layered atmospheres, balancing drive with subtle mystery.

The release also features a Ryan Davis Rethink, expanding Genesis into a deep, widescreen progressive house journey, and an An On Bast Remix of Trieuoppa, infused with playful fluidity and hypnotic groove.

Planned for release in Q1 2026, Kolibri Live LP marks an important milestone for PETRU KSS: his first album, recorded in the wild landscapes of Corsica and conceived as a voyage from nature to space.
Mixed by acclaimed engineer Hannes Bieger, and mastered at Calyx, it represents quality and craft at every stage.

The album lands as PETRU progresses toward the completion of his PhD in electronic music     a statement that, even in an age of AI-driven creation, human risk, imperfection, and imagination remain at the heart of art creation.
