I do not follow any specific rules; anything goes. However, the description of this week's challenge gave me the idea of remixing an earlier track. Although not exactly a rule, this is something I am not in the habit of doing. I chose a track of mine virtually at random (https://archive.org/details/SEQUENCE4_201811) & reworked a part of it.

The Assignment: Stop doing something you always do.

The track is based upon a percussive approach with a KORG wavedrum and has been added by an electric bass... and voice!

This track was inspired by this week's Disquiet Junto project: Breaking a rule you usually follow when making music.
So I created a track in which I don't try to keep the listener's attention by adding changes, developments or so-called "ear candy" to mainly harmonic compositions.

Lonely Rule (Disquiet0653)

For this one, I chose to use no reverb.

The Assignment: Stop doing something you always do.

Step 1: Thinks of things you consider unbreakable rules when you make music. Maybe you never use a vocal, or you always use a click track, or you never remake earlier work, or you always use a specific instrument. The longer you think about these rules, the more you’ll unearth rules that you hadn’t even recognized as rules before.

Step 2: Make a list of the self-imposed rules you came up with in Step 1.

Step 3: Choose one rule from Step 2 and record a track in which you break that rule.
