JD Moon is a singer-songwriter, producer, and audio engineer based out of Charleston, SC. 

He was also the lead singer/bassist of the band SondorBlue, which has amassed millions of streams on Spotify. The band also played many festivals like Firefly and Milwaukee’s Summerfest. 

Now a part of the outfit that is Current Blue, he released a single with the band, “wanna know”, which landed them a spot on Spotify’s Varsity Bars playlist. 

The band’s frontman, good friend and frequent-collaborator, STEPHAN, and good friend / lead guitarist, Yuki Tillis, recently started a record label—HARD PASS RECORDS. 

JD is the first artist to be signed to the label.

JD’s sound is genre-less, as he pulls inspiration from a drastic range of artists: one day it’s D’Angelo and Frank Ocean, the next day he could be binging The Beatles, Elliott Smith, and Dominick Fike. You can even catch him listening to heavy metal music (thank you Sleep Token)!

However, the essence and overall vibe of his music is steeped in nostalgia. 

His quest is to explore how technology has shaped nostalgic moments and our recollection of those moments through sound design / production and lyricism—The music. 

This is what his next album, “bluelight”, revolves around—Technology’s seamless integration into moments and interactions that change the course of your very being, especially the relationships where we harbor intimacy.

His sophomore album, “bluelight”, is slated for release late March 2024.

Formerly a HxCx scene kid who used to sport tight girl pants, band shirts, lip rings, eyeliner and long hair in his face￼, this multi-instrumental musician decided after his divorce that it was past time that he went back to his first love and escape from reality to heal his proverbial wounds. Was asked by an acquaintance if he would be up for attempting to step into a new genre. Rap and hip-hop?!?! At first he thought maybe if it’s karaoke style yeah I can do that and then he was shown artists like Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, ZillaKami, and the kid Laroi. Realizing this wasn’t too far off his more intimate writings speaking of hurt, addiction, abuse, and other things that make your skin crawl. He decided to see what could happen the EP that is going to be released on January 1, 2022 will be a small collection of the 30 songs he has amassed since beginning to get back into music as of approximately ￼the middle of November 2021￼. Having an ear for music is one thing, but being able to dissect several songs and take bits and pieces and make it all sound like something new is a whole different story. I for one can’t wait to read￼
