There comes a time when you realize you can’t keep carrying every version of yourself. Some identities were built just to survive. Others were given to you before you even knew who you were.

Shedding Skins is about that quiet, difficult process of letting go, not out of loss, but out of necessity. It's about peeling back the layers, slowly and honestly, until something more real is left behind.

This instrumental blends dusty hip hop drums, lo-fi textures, and subtle tape hiss, layered with melancholic piano chords, nostalgic synths, and a distant trumpet that feels like a memory trying to speak.

I made this track during a time when I felt everything shifting. Maybe you're in a similar place. If so, I hope this piece meets you there, somewhere between who you were, and who you’re still becoming.

Hiræm is a Mexican ambient/electronic musician and singer-songwriter.

He started in 2002 mainly as a guitar player in several post-rock bands in Guadalajara. After one of the bands came apart in 2007 Hiram continued to produce as a solo project. Describing his sound as “Drone Pop”, he uses elements of ambient, post-dubstep and classical in his music. 

In 2013 he got selected to attend Red Bull Music Academy in New York City.
