St. Macarious said who
Should I give this vine to?
Finally he walked to the cell  
Of the eldest monk he knew

He said take this my dear
You are the eldest here
And when you get the blessing
We’ll all be of good cheer

(Thought how can I enjoy it
When my brothers sleep hungry) x2

He gave it to the monk next door
And it went from door to door
It came back to the abbot
At the end of its tour

And hear what he had to say
