The Anjunadeep Edition 80 With Matthias Vogt

Hello World =]

I am sure I am not alone in saying 2018 has been a wild year. I have been pushing myself out of my comfort zone in a lot of new ways personally and professionally to places I never thought I could reach. In this effort I have encountered some of the most beautiful moments of my life, and some of my darkest. On the outside in, I am sure I look like I am on the top of my game! But I will be the first to admit, I have nothing together, I don't know what I am doing, and I consistently feel like a failure. 

Everyday and every minute, I am constantly plagued by questions I don’t know the answers to. 

“What do I want to do with my life?”
“Do I have what it takes to be a successful?”
“What even is success?"
“The world is a mess, what am I doing to help the next generation?”
"Am I wasting my young years?"
“Will I ever find love or am I too weird?”
"Do I deserve love?"
"Do I need a partner to be happy?"
“Why am I so afraid of commitment?”
“Why am I so afraid of failure?"

The pressure is sometimes overwhelming. I want to run away, hide, and never return. And through sheer will, I somehow manage to push through and “make it work"…..and it is sometimes days or even hours after these dark moments, I have some of the most rewarding, fulfilling, and beautiful moments of my life that I could ever ask for. 

I often laugh upon catching myself in these moments. Is this some cruel joke? Is life just some gauntlet we create for ourselves and run through just to see if we can do it? 

The more I talk about this with the people close to me, the more I realize that we are all our own worst enemies. The questions I ask are no different than what you all ask yourselves from time to time. We are all quietly navigating through the crucibles of our minds trying to come out better than before. And oddly, that is what I find most beautiful about life. We are all walking a self-determined path, putting our best foot forward, and trying to find love, happiness, and connection in the process. 

I spent many long hours carefully crafting this mix to give you a peek into my crucible and how I navigate it. But the real reason I crafted this mix was in hopes to help you all navigate your own. I want to yell from the rooftops that "you are not alone!" and that "we are all in this together!". 

I want to support you, and I only hope this soundtrack does just that. I layered in some of my favorite movie quotes to spur some self reflection as well as inspiration during those tough parts. Best of luck out there, and please, take care of each other.
