Dezember

It's been a couple of years since i've done one of these, but with the amount of good music that's been released in 2013 i really couldn't resist putting in the effort. The tracks that made it in this mix are the ones that really stood out for me and managed to still sound fresh after many plays, i've decided not to approach this mix from a club perspective because i didn't want it to end up sounding like just another live recording. i've been working on the tracklist all year, so i hope you guys enjoy it even though i had to remove 4 tracks from the end as Ableton wouldn't let me bounce the project because it was too big... Evening, Wednesday, Black Rock City 2014. Led by Paavo and Tony of Above and Beyond, bathing in the lavender sunset, we practiced an hour of yoga with Elena Brower. We gathered, strengthened, listened and received the gift of quiet. We landed at home in our own hearts. This class reminds us that we are never alone, and that no matter where we are, we are on the path, and right at home.

Live at Telekom Electronic Beats Festival Budapest

The Lab USA is BULLDOG Gin and Mixmag's weekly live stream and post-work unwind, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our offices in LA and NYC. On Sunday April 19, we're switching things up with a very special Home Session from Christian Löffler.

This Home Session will see the German perform a live set. Anyone who's seen Christian play live will know of the melancholic atmosphere he creates through a combination of synths, dusty kick drums, bubbly melodies and woozy vocals. All of that's present on his latest album, 'Lys', which you can expect to hear in this set.

Christian, along with his Ensemble, took his live show to the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London last year, while also touring everywhere from Germany and Greece to the United States and India.

His label Ki Records has been the home of most of his releases since 2009, including four albums (plus a rework album) from his first, 'A Forest', up until the most recent 'Lys'. Ki has also welcomed the likes of Aparde, Hior Chronik, Stimming and Janus Rasmussen in the last few years.
