This is the recording of my set at the Escape to Acid party @ the Péniche Inside Out Boat Liège Belgium.

For this party, i brought a selection of oldskool acid, techno and tekno. But of course there are some new sounds in there as well ;) After the wicked oldskool minded live-set of Outlander and Analog Devices, it was cool to take the music from a cool 135 BPM to the full on pace of P'tit Ju's 175 BPM live-set! Thank you belgian and french ravers, Jey Nocid and all artists! The vibe was awesome!

Welcome to the 16th session of Blocaus podcast.  
We receive as guest : Fiedel

For Fiedel the three main musical influences are Electro/early Hip-Hop, Acid house and the Hard Wax record store in Berlin Kreuzberg. He started to DJ publicly in the mid 90s on Monday’s at a club called Subversiv, which then has been a constant in Berlin’s underground techno scene. Fiedel has demonstrably been one of the first DJ’s to play Electro in this context. Besides he played serious techno from Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, the Burden Brothers, Mathew Johnson, Monolake, Soundhack and many others. When the moment is right, he also plays Hi-NRG. As he puts hit himself : Music should not be pigeonholed. In 1996 & 1997 he released two EP’s on MMM with Errorsmith. Especially their track ‘Donna’ is considered a much played techno classic. Apart from his residency at the legendary Berghain/Panorama Bar, we can say one thing about Fiedel : he is no techno or house stereotype pattern, that you can put randomly on a every evening or club. He is lead by his history, the history of the music and the feeling of the moment to build something new and to capture this very moment. Let it be the straight dark techno of today, banging acid of the 80’s or an electro funk record, Fiedel surprises. He undermines and overrides expectations and refrains to limit the music for any reason. He lets the music speak for itself, through himself. Enjoy !
