Biography
Yvan Genkins was born in Switzerland 1979. His first impact with electronic music came in the middle 90's, sharing this passion with friends who were organising parties around his city. But his first snatching experience that make him move a step forward took place in Germany where he could stay one full year in 1997 and get deeper into clubculture if you think about Berlin's Tresor gold time or Munich Alter Flughafen Riem Club. Kevin Saunderson, Joey Beltram, Luke Slater are some of the Techno Masters that gave him the right pulse to go behind the decks and start a DJ career.

Back in Switzerland, Yvan could build a solid profile all over the years, hitting some of the most important spots of the country like Caprices Festival, Nordstern, Mad, QClub. He likes to build tight and pumpin DJ-sets focussing on funky rollin grooves and hypnotic basses, the main ingredients, he likes to focus on to catch the most exigent audiences. His style might be defined as "tech-house" but with a sens of modern "old schoolism".

On the production side, Yvan strives to find rare patterns and beats from every kind of rhythmical music like funk, afro-beat or soul to transform them into his very personal groove and building relentless loops that can marry both energy and sexyness into powerful tracks. No wonder if Yvan considers himself as a chicago music fan.

His "savoir-faire" catched the attention of Mendo from Cadenza, one of the best swiss export and "hits-maker". They started several collaborations as both remixers and original producers and went charted by all the tenors of the techno scene like Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola or Reboot to name a few... Every one of their productions hits the top of the charts if you think about their recent releases on famous labels like 8 bit, Defected, Bla Bla, Monza Ibiza, Suara, Saved, Jett, Recycle, Clarisse of course and many more... Still working hard in the studio, alone or with friends like Gary Beck, Hector Couto, Lee Van Dowski, Salvatore Freda, Arnaud Le Texier, Andre Butano, Dani Casarano, Alex Picone or Felipe Valenzuela, Yvan continue to climb the scales and make the planet dance.

Adel and Jan-Eric are Autotune, a dynamic artist duo from Berlin. They are deeply rooted in the Berlin night life culture with an authentic clubbing background reaching way back into the early 90s. With Adel having grown up in West Berlin and Jan-Eric in East Berlin, they together represent a good mix of strong cultural diversities that are pleasantly intertwined into a snug and seductive groove flow. They have played together live for more than 15 years now, their sound matured on a masterly level which seldomly seeks its match anywhere around the world. Over the years Autotune has given birth to a number of deep funk driven house and techno tracks. Their seductive groovy energy especially unfolds whenever they are playing live. No live set equals the other. Autotune is constantly thriving to improve itself and find new ways of expression. Therefore their sound is constantly evolving. On September 2nd Techno mainstays Pig&Dan are set to release a special EP entitled ‘Modular Baptism (Remixes)’ via their own imprint, ELEVATE, which will soon celebrate its milestone 50th release.

This exclusive remix package features four stunning reworks of ‘Growler’ and ‘The Saint (Job San)’, the lead tracks taken from the duo’s acclaimed fourth album, ‘Modular Baptism’ which was released earlier this year. 

‘Modular Baptism’ was a record that further solidified Pig&Dan’s status as one of the most exciting Techno acts in the business, with the album claiming the #1 spot on Beatport and singles such as ‘Growler’ reaching the top spot in Beatport’s Techno chart and #2 overall.

Kicking off proceedings are two alluring reinterpretation of the duo’s aforementioned banger ‘Growler’. The first comes from Spanish DJ/producer Alberto Ruiz, who fuses the original’s deep resounding synth-riff with warped industrial sounding effects, and the second from rising London-based Brazilian-born talent Vinicius Honorio, who ventures down an even darker route with fierce distorted synths crashing against the more melodic moments of the track to great effect.

Following on are two excellent re-rubs of ‘The Saint (Job San)’. The first comes from revered NY based DJ/producer Boris, who turns the melodic masterpiece into a sharp, dark Techno roller featuring a relentless array of synth stabs. The second remix comes from French-born Geneva-based underground king Lee Van Dowski, who provides a euphoric sounding framework by bringing the original’s piano chords to the front of the mix and introducing squelching synths towards the end of the 8-minute number to further fuel the climatic finish.

‘Modular Baptism (Remixes)’ is available exclusively via Beatport on September 2nd and everywhere else two weeks later.

Mother Recordings continues to dominate the contemporary house landscape with a new one from NiCe7 that packs two hefty punches and a drum tool. DJ and production outfit NiCe7 are Italy-based Nicola Daniele and Cesare Marocco and they have been making big tunes on the likes of Suara, Noir Music, Cr2 and more.
First up, Groove Key is a big vocal tune that builds suspense on chunky drums. When the impassioned vocal breaks out, and the bass line joins the party, the club is sure to blow up.
Go Back is a slow burner that will have the floor in raptures. Disco house loops, funky bass riffs and lush claps all build and build to a frantic peak. After the cosmic breakdown the tune drops and makes a huge impact.
