Strapontin and Zillas On Acid are back with a second red hot collaborative EP. Let them tell you all about it….

After completing Acid Straps Vol. I, we knew we had to delve ever deeper into the shared Strapontin-Zillas (Strapozillas?) universe–harder, weirder, wilder. Work commenced as before, with music volleyed across the Atlantic via the information superhighway. Particular yet universal themes emerged with “Dial Up” (modern [mis]communication), “Another Job” (the perils of labor), “Reading Comments” (distraction and the social mediated life), and “In Your Mind” (quick fix platitudes via the self-help industrial complex). 

A chance planetary alignment brought the three of us together IRL in Brussels this past summer to put the finishing touches on the EP while we were all incarnated–TOGETHER–in the same physical space. It’s this raw PHYSICALITY that informs the more focused final release, which we hope will translate to you, the listener, as you carefully experience… Acid Straps Vol. II.

Hell Yeah is back in full force with more tasteful selections this time from My Friend Dario and his ‘Food For Woofers Vol 1 EP’.  My Friend Dario is known for serving up a myriad of beats that from far flung tropical landscapes, with guitars that break on the sand like foaming white waves and majestic synths that shine like the sun.  It’s the freestyle project by Catania's Dario Aiello, whose rarefied sounds are designed for chillin’ and heating up modern dance floors. Placed on the Balearic map by labels like Hell Yeah and NuNorthern Soul, this intriguing artist is showing what he is about more and more with every new release. On this new EP, My Friend Dario continues to expand his wondrous musical world with a collection of characterful cuts that shows his broad stylistic range. 
 
'Sambatismo' kicks off with nu Balearic breaks that bristle with energy and are peppered with steamy jungle drums. The opening cut provides six minutes of dancefloor bliss, dropping around the four-minute mark with a spine-tingling breakdown, some sensational piano chords, and sultry sax that drives it home. The off-kilter chords on the cinematic 'Nature In A Different Planet' takes you to a tropical new world far off in the cosmos, where deep synths, mystic pads and rave whistles all bring a whole new sonic experience. 'Easy Sunday' is loose and elastic mid-tempo house with star-gazing synth craft and pixelated leads that leave you in awe.  Closing cut 'Carmico' is a killer chugger with some sleazy guitar riffs and heavy drum loops taking you on a deeper and more cerebral trip.

PREMIERE : My Friend Dario - Nature in a Different Planet

Can you name a oldie-goldie Electronica song this one is dedicated to? Early space-electronic music lover could tell one of my fave track by the name ... maybe by the vibe? In the video clip four dudes dressed up into space suites and helmets (nope, not Daft Punk, but well French). One holding and playing Moog Model D on his laps. Just like the one you hear here. Always wanted to play Space music! 

When playing this track I came across documentary discovering a trace they  spotted from above. It was left by some magic object flying over in between poles in a matter of minutes. What is it?

Special blend of Moog Model D and Arturia Pigments on lead. Korg ARP2600m, more Pigments, MiniV3, plus UAD Opal synth. Mastered with FabFilters. UADx, IK, Ableton Live 12. As always the new and a dozen other tracks are downloadable on my accounts, thanks!

Darting to the left down an alleyway, her heart skipped a beat as an uneven paving stone almost tripped her, but she managed to maintain her balance and regain focus as she headed for the busy street ahead. She was being chased but there was no danger, she knew exactly what she was doing. Her feet barely touched the ground as she weaved in between the drunk partygoers taking up the pavement. Snippets of nonsense conversations, indistinct shouts from across the street, and harsh artificial light from cars and shop fronts blurred into one disorienting multi-sensory experience, intensifying her escape tenfold.

Next up on Berlin-based label Malka Tuti is a remix package of Hamburg duo Shari Vari. As an appendix to their debut LP 'NOW', friends of the label have reinterpreted a selection of songs from the release, reconditioning them for the dance floor. Black Merlin’s version of ‘Dance Alone’ amplifies its dark atmosphere, introducing a repetitive tumbling bass line alongside otherworldly synth sounds and chopped and twisted vocal snippets.

JIN 03 EP presents a 4 track EP from Osaka's Ground.  True to his unique soul that's reminiscent of a nomad, traversing the planet, befriending kindred spirits found in humans and various environments, this EP presents 4 pieces of unique grooves that ranges from the more euphoric vibe to both daytime & night time of a winter season surrounding a temple. 

On A side "Osakacid" comes in two versions: A1 original version is a slow motion acidic tripper under the winter street of Osaka city lights. Long Flight Version features Mayuko, 1/2 of ambient, electronica duo Synth Sisters. Her soothing melody on synthesizer layered with Ground's goofy acidic flavor compliments perfectly with each other.

B1 turns to the pure creative side of Ground. "Stone Bridge" is based on a local bridge that connects to a temple nearby his country side home outside of Osaka.  Mystic and minimalistically punchy, this cut digs deep into the soulful side of Ground's ever nomadic approach. B2 comes in a complete shock: Ground's longtime friends in Thailand - Mogambo twists up "Stone Bridge" into a psychedelic, GOA fused floor shaker that takes you to an imaginary zone of raving inside the temple late into early morning.
