Keepin' the legacy; it could be our motto here at Hizou and it is certainly what we humbly try to achieve with all of our music. Which makes it the perfect title for this our fifth release, a various artists affair featuring four producers from two continents with one aim: quality house music inspired by the classic sounds we love from Chicago, Detroit and New York.

Hizou debutant James Duncan has a pedigree to envy being not only an in-demand trumpet player for the likes of Metro Area and DFA, but also an acclaimed producer for Dance Tracks and Real Soon amongst others and owner of his own superb label, Le Systeme. Although originally from Toronto, it is Duncan's adoptive home of New York that looms large over Track A. Old-school Big Apple house and garage flavours percolate what is an already irresistible groove.

Enigmatic producer G Marcell also makes his first appearance for us with the achingly groovy Peace Awaited. And the Chicago-based artist -- who has worked alongside the likes of Aesthetic Audio's Keith Worthy -- makes an instant impact as this beautifully measured cut is infectious, emotive and ass-shaking in equal parts.

Detroit old-school legend Gari Romalis returns to the fold after his recent solo debut for Hizou with the mighty The No Beat Left Behind EP. Here with the equally-impressive We Here he does what he does best; no nonsense, chunky, floor-throbbing house music of the highest order.

Mellowing the mood a touch, label owner Satore makes a welcome homecoming with a track that is arguably his most accomplished, contemplative and mature to date. Tribute To The Roots (Extended Mix) is a downtempo delight drenched in soul, bathed in melancholy and is quite simply the perfect close to the EP.

S.A.M. returns to their Delaphine imprint with three tracks for the dance floor and beyond. All tracks carry a signature groovy and punchy low-end with deep other-dimensional swelling atmospheres and immersive compositions. The opening track 'What Defines You As A Human' takes you underwater with bubbly synth effects and arpeggiated bass plucks filling up the lows while flanging sizzling hi hats tickle the eardrum. The groove is driving with a single reflective line being repeated in whispering vocals.

The second track 'Lundeborg Winds' follows up with pad chords topped with an organically tweaked Moog melody all collapsing into a darker and stormy vibe. Here a new acidic bass line keeps you moving and brings you into the storm with curiosity. A soft and dreamy piano part carries the tunes outro and puts the storm to rest.

The full sided cut on the B-side named ‘Dive’ could refer to S.A.M. 's prior release from 2016 ‘Descend II Ascend’, because the track really does take you to deep inner oceans before ascending to shivering heights. Here the journey up high seems to be conditioned on diving inward. A solemn almost religious choir takes the composition in a unique direction toward a place somewhere in between the beats of the heart.

With a sly grin, he brought his enchanted flute to his lips, sending ethereal notes rippling through the air. We have gathered again to present you a full body of work by Austin Bascom who goes under the moniker Abacus. The gentleman has created a lot of unique works for the people to enjoy starting from the 90’s and till this day. Recently the artist had a string of fantastic releases in our current years of 2020+ as well. This time he was kind enough to dedicate his time and effort to the dome of Sakskøbing. We witness the four deep cuts of house music in the way how deep house needs to be done in our honest opinion. Start of from “Chi-Town Stories” and the stories it brings to the ears and the mindset, straight after witnessing “Chillin’ Woman” with amazing vocals by Mz. Mosea which has been recorded in 1994, then bringing in the “Mourning Sun” and to conclude wrapping yourself under a warm blanket of “Hyggë”. I hope this work of soul and passion will bring you nice feelings as it did to us. Don’t forget to tell your loved ones that you love them. The Spaniard was influenced early on in his life from jazz, soul, & funk, and eventually fell in love with the deep house sound. You'll find countless releases from Jesus on labels such as Global Underground, Audio Therapy, Gotta Keep Faith Records, and on his own label, Troubled Kids Records. His label and his productions focus on blending elegant deep house with power tech house to get you on the dancefloor.

As a DJ, his sound is deep, groovy, and soulful. He's played in numerous clubs throughout Spain, and also internationally in England, Germany, and South Africa. His debut album 'A New Life' is slated for release next week on February 3rd, which includes his premiere on our channel, 'Mind Flyer'.
