Conceived in the summer of 2010, Lower East is a label that has represented the very best in underground house and techno since its inception. It is a platform that stands for diversity, with a firm focus on nurturing new talent while drawing a wealth of past experience, to truly encapsulate all that the electronic music industry has to offer. Owned by Cozzy D, Lower East continues to evolve and remains as relevant today as it was when it was first founded at the beginning of the decade. 

Since its launch, quality and variety have been key traits of the label, they form the core of Lower East’s output. Cozzy has been entrenched in the club world for a long while now, with his personal tastes informed by a range of influences. This permeates into the label, which supports a variety of sounds, from straight up dancefloor ready house & techno to more accessible deep and soulful cuts.

Tracks such as Gavin Herlihy's timeless remix of Gav Memnos' 'Be Your Oooo', Johnny Mikes’ Darkness Everyday’, Alexis Raphael's 'Kitchens & Bedrooms' and Cozzy D’s ‘Aphrodite’ are among Lower East’s key hits and helped establish them as a reputable source of high quality club music. Since then Lower East has maintained a constant flow of releases, from a wide range of artists from the likes of MK to Timo Maas – also releasing two various artist compilations: Inner Circles 1 & 2, not to mention label showcases in Switzerland, Paris, Barcelona and across the breadth of the UK as well as a tour of Australia. Nurturing new talent is a constant focus too, with artists like REbEL, Johnny Mikes, Michael Jansons and Alexis Raphael coming up through the ranks thanks to their support. 


A globally respected and highly accomplished artist, label boss at the seminal Hot Creations, founder and curator of the worldwide Paradise event series and member of cross-genre band Hot Natured, Jamie Jones has achieved iconic status in the electronic music world. A trendsetter and seasoned tastemaker, the Welsh dance music superstar pioneered his own distinct sound, drawing on his deep knowledge and experience to cultivate DJ sets that weave through a range of diverse, complementary styles selected to energise and enchant the dance floor.

Located at the south end of Kingsland Road in Shoreditch, Basing House is an intimate, 300 capacity venue that opened in 2010. Basing House operates a late-license, opening each Friday and Saturday – with occasional Thursday events. A large volume of external promoters and labels curate the venues music programme. Basing House’s sound is supplied by Funktion-One and also features a roof terrace, which doubles as its smoking area. Friday and Saturday play host to house, disco and techno events.

Lee submerses himself so much in electronic music that it may run through his veins. His role as an east London based DJ, producer and label owner has put him at the centre of an underground scene that is starting to yield its influence the world over. Spreading his diverse musical manifesto far and wide, Lee has started to become an established name on the scene, garnering acclaim and respect throughout the industry.

It started for Lee at a young age; growing up to the classic Motown, soul and Rare Groove records that his parents would boom throughout the house. These early years instilled a love of music in Lee that has continued to grow ever since. An accomplished guitarist in his own right, it is with electronic production however that Lee has truly flourished, with his music now gathering support from the likes of Sasha, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier, Troy Pierce, DJ T and many more.

Lee’s unfaltering love for underground electronic music has seen him explore many variations of the scene such is his lust for discovering new ideas, concepts and philosophies. His penchant for garage grooves is still a distinct feature of his music today, but is now combined with deep beats, melodic basslines and a warm and soulful exterior picked up elsewhere on the way.
 
Lee also co-runs underground UK based label Lower East. Established by Lee and Cozzy D in 2010 it is already now one of the most highly acclaimed imprints in London regularly receiving plaudits from the highest ranks for their regular releases. Lower East boasts much home grown talent in addition to emerging talent from around the world as part of their roster. London based acts such as Alexis Raphael, Wildkats, Michael Jansons and Max Chapman help to form much of their inner circle as well as international stars such as MK (Marc Kinchen), Timo Maas and Lee Foss, making Lower East a pivotal establishment within the scene.

Holds residencies at his daytime Sunday party Retox, whilst also having the opportunity to get dark and dubby on the flip side at his CONCPT nights! Also a resident for the UK's biggest and best Underground House & Techno Festival - THE SOCIAL FESTIVAL, held in his hometown and run by head honcho Nic Fanciulli. 
Started off playing UK Garage & DnB on vinyl in his room as a youngster and been spinning those riddims ever since '99... Forever progressing, never stressin'!  :)
